Black Screen on start-up

I see nothing, no sound no image. Help with a fix?

I was able to fix this by deleting the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Robocop folder which was left over from the demo. Hope that helps.

I had this first time I tried to start it, closed it in task manager. Restarted Steam and launched it again, still black screen and (Not Responding) in TM. Alt-tabbed and started browsing here and after a few minutes music started up. It seems to just take ages to get going.

I let the game run for a bit in the blank screen and it eventually came on for me.

Yeah, I think it compiles shaders or something in the background, took a few minutes of black screen before it booted up. All fine now though

this just helped me now as well thanks!

Exact same problem, deleting the folder seems to have worked after it forced it to redetect the graphic settings.

Good call I didn't even think of that just like Lords of the Fallen but the only difference is it tells you it's compiling shaders I'm having that problem myself right now I just bought the game tonight and I'm getting the black screen never played the demo

After several attempts with various approaches and some wasted hours, the only solution that worked for me involved reinstalling both x64 and x86 Visual C++ redistributable packs, using the files provided here:
