Game CRASHES EVERYTIME! LowLevelFatalError
I'm receiving the following error everytime I start the game. It occurs randomly. Anyone else?

SOLUTION FOR ME:

Well, since the start of this thread a lot of sugestions to fix the issue were posted. Unfortunately, none of them worked for me,
but they can work for other people, so I'm compiling all of them in a list here
of "possible fixes" . What didn't work for me can work for someone else after all. In the end, in my case I had to UNDERCLOCK and UNDERVOLT my GPU....WTF (core voltage 1000mV max and core 1750Mhz max worked perfectly) . I have to mentiond that the factory specs of my card are 1200mV and core running at 2050Mhz.
So the game worked properly.

But to the list:

=======================================
Y@tJA suggestion:

1. Try adding "-nopsos" in the launch option for the game. This didn't work for me in Robocop
so i eventually removed it, but it did work in Lords of the fallen. This will unfortunately
prevent the game from compiling shaders which reduces stuttering.

2. Navigate to your \steamapps\common\Robocop Rogue City folder and locate Robocop.exe and right
click it. Select the "compatability" tab and check "Run this program in compatability mode for:"
and try selecting either Windows 8 or Windows 7. I'm a Windows 11 user, that might be relevant for this fix.
This worked for me but be patient on your first boot of the game and stay in the main menu for a minute or two.
The game will stutter like no tomorrow but it will eventually finish, this is probably due to a shader
compilation to make the game run smoother when you start playing.

=============================================
Schoolofmonkey suggestion:

Ok after playing round I found out this.

Vista service pack 1 compatibility on the RoboCop-Win64-Shipping.exe file in the Robocop Rogue City\Game\Binaries\Win64 folder works, you can't start the game from the original Robocop.exe.

It takes about a minute of so for the menu to stop being a slide show, I'm guessing its compiling shader.

Now here's the problem, it indicates it's not out hardware that's the issue, it's the games code, it was similar issues for Lords of Fallen and the recent Slenderman remake, both using Unreal 5.
Seems to really hate current CPU/GPU's like the 13900k and 4090's...

Had to lock my 13900k's P-Core speeds manually to 5.5Ghz, once I did that the problem stopped.

============================================
Double-O Dale suggestion:

If you have DLSS Frame Generation turn it off, it helps most of the time but it doesn't always fix it,
sometimes you gotta change your DLSS settings (like go from Balanced to Performance or something)

There doesn't seem to be a definitive fix, and it's something that seems to happen with a wide variety of games and hardware

===========================================

Winny suggestion:

How to restart your graphics driver in Windows 11:

If your PC appears to be working fine, but the visuals have frozen, or you've had a sudden black screen but the PC seems to be working otherwise, you might need to restart your graphics driver.

Step 1: Press Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B.

Step 2: Your screen(s) will flash black (if they aren't black already) as the driver refreshes.

If it worked, you should find your PC is working again. If this problem persists, you might want to consider reinstalling your graphics driver anyway.

this worked for me dont know if it will work for everyone.

=====================================================

GameWizzard2 suggestion:

Here's what I did to fix the issue and it hasn't crashed since.
In the launch options when you click on properties for the game in steam, use the -high option.
If you continue to crash at the menu after doing this, use the -high and -safe options.
Everything was smooth for me after that.

======================================================

K A Y S A suggestion:

Disabling Frame Generation fixed the crashing for me!

======================================================

Khaos Strife suggestion:

For those having this issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1681430/discussions/0/3940146862827775651/?tscn=1698950563

Tldr:

Open Regedit as an admin (search in windows search and then right click, run as admin)

Backup your registry (File -> Export)
Select Export Range 'All'
Save it somewhere you can get to in the event you break something and need to restore
(Create a restore point as well if you are inclined to do so)

Then navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Control -> GraphicsDrivers

Then perform the following:
Right Click in the right panel in the 'white space' and Select New In Windows Registry
Select DWORD (32-bit) Value
Type TdrLevel (Type as it is written)
Double click or right click TdrLevel and select Modify
Confirm that the vaule is 0
Reboot

This should help resolve the hung GPU error and should help with other games as well.

This is not a 100% fix but it should help.

===============================================================

Zeller suggestion:

I had the same problem. You have to turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows. I just played for several hours without error.
This is a bad solution, because for other games, it's exactly what I need. So now I have to turn it on and off all the time...

Try updating drivers once more. Seems like a driver error or faulty hardware. Disable all overclocks if you have any applied.

Same here, 545.92....

546.01 just came out, I'll give it a try.

Try refunding it it's trash I mean Starfield didn't have that many issues lots of games don't have issues like that as long as the team making it takes their time or has quality individuals but Rogue city feels rushed, feels like a cash grab.

Same issues with 546.01 .....

Same here having the this same issue

Your error code seems to be slightly different from mine, but i'll post anyway in case it works. This game seems to suffer from similar issues like Lords of the fallen, another unreal engine 5 title. With that in mind i applied two of the fixes they recommended. I'll list them below.

1. Try adding "-nopsos" in the launch option for the game. This didn't work for me in Robocop so i eventually removed it, but it did work in Lords of the fallen. This will unfortunately prevent the game from compiling shaders which reduces stuttering.

2. Navigate to your \steamapps\common\Robocop Rogue City folder and locate Robocop.exe and right click it. Select the "compatability" tab and check "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and try selecting either Windows 8 or Windows 7. I'm a Windows 11 user, that might be relevant for this fix. This worked for me but be patient on your first boot of the game and stay in the main menu for a minute or two. The game will stutter like no tomorrow but it will eventually finish, this is probably due to a shader compilation to make the game run smoother when you start playing.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for posting this, and giving me a glimmer of hope. Alas it didn't work for me and Im still stuck with a bricked product

I was hopeful when windows 7, 8 and then Vista compatibility settings all got rid of the error, but they either crashed at menu or once I started a save quick and I could hear sound but never got video. Went back to stock settings and back with the shader error and also get the low video memory error sometimes.

Not sure where the issue is but the game runs on two other PC's. I'll have to play on the big screen TV on the couch I guess as I don't want to unhook my desktop for this one game.

Thanks for your sugestion. Burt unfortunately it didn't solve the issue yet.
I will try another things. If I discover the solution, I'll post here.

I posted in another thread that this did indeed get me going, may not be ideal but hey it plays and plays great now on my desktop. I ended up using WIn 8 compatibility mode because it was the only one that didnt crash after a few mins. I stayed at the menu and let it chug along, and eventually the shaders all loaded and the framerate went to max, then i could start the game and play without issues. Thanks to the above.

After seeing the compatibility mode mentioned for other games countless times this was the first time it actually fixed something for me. Guessing I will need to wait each time i start up the game but I can deal with that until a proper patch comes out.

Same here, same setup, guess our hardware is broke...lol..

This is an issue I have and from what I have seen a lot of people with 4090 13900K and unreal engine games. Very annoying.

unreal 5 sucks.
