Watch films before playing required

Curious.....I couldn't find a way to watch the films until recently, and too late before release. But is it required to watch the films to understand story? Never seen them. And I know it says it's set between 2 and 3.... really want to play it but also want to understand the story of the game.

If you have amazon prime you can get a 7 day free trial to MGM and watch all three on there, thats what I'm going to do as I"ve not seen the films in a while.

Don't worry Robocop doesn't have a complexe story. Yeah It would be better to watch at least the first one, but not mandatory.

Great. Thanks for quick response. Wasnt honestly expecting a response on here for quite awhile. So thanks. Good to know I can just watch the first 2. Guess I'll be up all night! 2 hours long each.....4 am before I can play! Lol.

I'll still wqtch the 3rd movie after the game. Glad I don't have to watch it before playing! Really want to play before I sleep all day! Haha

Scheduled to unlock at 10am CET (5am Eastern) on consoles and at 6pm CET (1pm Eastern) on PC. So +/- half an hour because Steam will Steam.

Well I'm on west coast of US....so it's unlocking in less than an hour for me. But I'm not playing until after I watch the first 2 films.

Yes. You need to watch first film necessarily (I saw some references even in demo). Second as well, to know about this Nuke drug and some characters

Haha. Yep. Im watching the 1st now. So far from what I've watched its great. The blood and gore is pretty good for the year it came out! Amazing.

Haha. Yep. Im watching the 1st now. So far from what I've watched its great. The blood and gore is pretty good for the year it came out! Amazing.

The original film is one of the greatest sci-fi action movies ever made. Nearly a perfect film in my opinion; it has layers to it like an onion and I watch it every year. It's anthropological, and that's why it has stood the test of time. ENJOY.

It's sad but you will probably never be able to see something like the OG Robocop ever again.
