Maximum Gaters

Recently I got a message that I have not the maximum amount of gaters. Is there anywhere a way to see how many I can recruit and how many I already have since I felt very surprised about that info. Also if you lose someone on a mission and stuff happens so you forget how many you will have now left again it would be nice to have somewhere a count like x from y gaters recruited.

Edit: Oh, now I've seen the number of gaters I have at the moment but still no maximum count. Guess I have to remember that 50 is the maximum.

Yes, 50 is the max and there's a feature in the game settings when creating a new game to set it to unlimited.

This is very good information to me as a first time player. I also had NO IDEA there is a cap on how many gaters I can have...

Why is there a limit exactly? :-O

Limit was introduced due to technical issues, if I remember correctly it was one of the ways devs tackled the late game slowdown, so I imagine fiddling with it may not be the best idea.
