How many of us would like a sequel? ( no controversy please)
Forspoken may not be among the best critically acclaimed games, but how many of us think that with a sequel they could have elevated the potential of the title? In my opinion a sequel was great !!

they closed down the studio, "may not be among the best" is an understatement

yes I know, and it's a shame because it deserved the idea of the game and the gameplay...

Which is totally irrelevant to the matter. They didn't really close the studio so much as envelop it back into SQEX internally. From what I gather that was ALWAYS the plan, no matter how well the game did.
And SQEX owns the IP, so they could easily make a sequel if they wanted to.

But given the game was a major flop (note, I'm talking about financially here, it sold bad, regardless of who does or doesn't like it), it's pretty doubtful it'd happen.
I'd be down for similar games, but not continuations of this forspoken.

Frey's story, athia's tale are pretty much concluded and any further return could be covered in other media like a manga or cameo in some other game - its isekai after all and we know there's other worlds and spacetime schenanigans are possible.
A saviour facing no more threats in his world can help other worlds' own heroes or even mess their efforts.

Yeah, a sequel would be nice considering we are at the start of the story itself.

I completely agree !! I really hope Square Enix will consider making a sequel. Although objectively it will be difficult given the financial disaster of the sales of this stock

true! I also think that a studio like S.E. is able to invent something to give life to a sequel a bit like "the witcher" that arrived at the third chapter the story of Geralt is concluded but in the end another title comes out, the fourth that certainly introduces a new story that perhaps begins a new saga of the genre with a new hero... In the world of gaming, anything is possible. There are no rules that bind you completely

I'd LOVE to experience a sequel. Forspoken has pushed its way to my Top Favorite Games of All-Times list. I've put 100+ hours into this base title and still working on 100% completion of the game (haven't started the DLC yet). Everything about the game has been wonderful!

My only "request" if a sequel were to be released would be to drop the Luminous Engine. I've experienced, Final Fantasy XV & Forspoken, under Luminous and have come to the conclusion that the Luminous Engine is technical garbage. I'm hoping Square Enix never released another title made using Luminous.

It may not be the best game but I still got hooked on the story. The "In Tanta we trust" DLC brought me more questions than answers about what happened on Athia.
I'm still hoping for a sequel because I'm still hungry for more.

The studio closed down as its own entity but everyone in it went back to Square Enix to work there as a team. Square have done things like that in the past and have released sequels to games from studios that were integrated like that into their corporate structure. So no, it really doesn't matter if the studio exists as a studio or as an internal Square Enix team because it is the same people there that can work on the same IP if they choose to.

As for the sales - it is really unclear whether Forspoken is profitable or not and how it will perform in the long run only that it performed below expectations by march which means... basically nothing about how profitable the game is overall. I mean FF7: Rebirth's sales were also disappointing according to SE so who the hell knows what their expectations are to begin with.

You clearly didn't even read my post entirely. The so-called closing of the studio (which as explained above isn't really what happened) was going to happen no matter how well the game did. But regardless of that, that's unrelated to the quality of the game in the first place.

I wouldn't mind one (either official or in spirit), providing they do a better job on the scenario and dialogs.
But I'd love to see more gameplay like this game.

Edit: Just tagged everything for spoilers and added clarity

I mean, it's very clearly NOT concluded. Not only do we NOT know what Sussurus is or where it came from, it's still a problem in a manner of speaking and the Break still exists in some places in Athia . Have you even played the DLC? It very clearly sets up the idea that a sequel has potential and even solves the issue of Athia more or less being "saved", though not entirely by a long shot by proposing that Frey needs to travel to Rheddig and that they actually possess Tanta's of their own which suggests that they actually AREN'T evil and something likely manipulated the war between the two peoples, given that it was said Sussurus owes its existence to a more sinister being/source (I forget the exact wording)

I'll just go out on a limb and say it: I'm much more likely to play a sequel to this, if properly improved from a technical perspective, than I am to buy a manga or play a largely different game just for some cameo reference to this one. By the end, Frey is a largely respectable human being who just needed to get their ♥♥♥♥ together, and it took learning some things - big spoiler ahead! The identity of her mother - to trigger that. That's alright, IMO, and a pretty massive revelation in its own right. The Ending is pretty climactic and worthy of a final confrontation - I honestly don't think I ever experienced something quite as epic as that since I first beat Dragon's Dogma 1 and experienced the Dragon and the Ur-Dragon which definitely says something
