CPU utilisation at 100%?!?!?
So I'm sure this isn't anything new, but what gives? I don't have any other app running in the background and this game just eats up all of my cpu. I am running on a 3090 and an i9-10850k on 32gb of 3600 Ram and I feel like my PC will fry my room.

I've all forms of ray tracing off, so is there a setting that is just eating all of my resources? This game doesn't look good enough to completely destroy my resources like it is so I wonder what I am missing?

similar set up, i9-10900k 64G ram and RTX3090, 4k/50-70 fps ray tracing + everything max, CPU utilization 35% max, peak temp 47 C

Update to latest Afterburner and RTSS beta builds, you're experiencing a well documented bug that misreports CPU usage to Windows. You don't own a magical CPU (it would be nice, though).

AMD 5900X
RTX 4080
playing the demo I get @40% CPU usage, GPU 99%
(4K ultra + RT)

4K 65%CPU 99%GPU WTF???

Toggling ray tracing and most other settings seem to not affect this CPU bottleneck at all for me either (tried going 1440p, no change either). Very, very weird. This doesn't happen in games like Cyberpunk or Darktide. Cyberpunk I'm getting 100% GPU utilization, same in Darktide and getting 60FPS at 4k in CP and over 140 FPS in Darktide (due to DLSS 3).

I have NO idea why this game is maxing my CPU, nothing else ever has. Even the CPU heavy titles (Darktide, Total War for example).
Youre getting maxed out CPU? Highest usage ive seen in my rig is 6% on a 5900x and for whatever stupid reason my GPU, RTX 4090, is at 50-60 utilization in the open world. Its ROUGH.
This is an interesting case. Based on my technical experience your outlined hardware utilisation is well within the norm and the game shouldn't have fps issues or chug in anyway.

So everything runs for you perfectly fine? Might be a dumb question on my end but what OS are you running it on? Could the issue be something as stupid as an os version or windows iteration? My cpu was quickly approaching the 80 degrees c range in less than 30 mins.

Full disclosure I've played cyber punked maxed out with Ray tracing and an embarrassing amount of google chrome tabs open in the background and I've not had issues like with this game.

if youre plaing on FullHD u have bottlneck in your cpu! and with 2k u have little bit bottlneck

cpu is to weak for that card

if the cpu on 100% u have 100% bottleneck in the cpu!

There might be a small bottleneck of 15-17% but that doesn't account for the issues. People with better spec'd pcs are having the same issue. This has Never been an issue with ANY other game no matter how graphically intense it is unless there are other glaring technical issues like with what happened with Elden Ring.

Looking around on reddit and here it's a Very common issue it seems so sadly the mostly likely reason is an awful port thst wasn't tested in any real capacity. I've read that people with 4090's and a gen 13 Intel are having the Exact same problem.

Update for everyone!

Seems that this issue is related to the amount of FPS you have selected! Speaking to some chaps on reddit, it was suggested that I lower it from 120 to 60 that that drastically lowered the cpu utilisation. I don't quite know what's causing this, but it seems to be related to uncapping the fps, which screams console focus bullshitery cause as far as I know this runs perfectly fine there!

Anyways I'd love to see if anyone else can test it and get back to me.

My i7 11700k @ 4.9ghz all cores max cpu usage once in demo went to 52% playing 4k @ 120fps mode and you have more cores and threads and yours sit at 100% in game? like wtf

Barely uses CPU and that is only because I have DLSS on. This game seems to run differently for everyone.

I'm sorry, but that ancient CPU is bottle-necking your 4090 you just don't realize it most of the time. And while frames may not be bad you are still losing FPS. Darktide side steps your CPU bottelneck because DLSS 3 generates one 3rd of it's frames via the GPU so it alleviates stress on the CPU. Also, you should be getting higher frame in CP. I have a 4090 paired with a 12900K and I get 77 FPS in CP.

What are your system Ram and storage specs?

I have 2080ti and i7-8700k and can get 144fps in Cyberpunk.

Forspoken however something is seriously wrong. It runs at 100% cpu and only 6% GPU. Only 50fps and stutters like mad

Somethings wrong with your CPU, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TUZRd1TeNo <-- my CPU and GPU usage, GPU at 100% ..CPU isn't maxed, I do see some weird fluctuating percentages up into the 80% range though, and those CPU temps are normal for a OCed 7700X
