China restricted version?

Hey guys,

just got my key for the game. When I activated it, it said "Forspoken - China restricted". Wtf does that mean?
Does someone know?

You got a Chinese key for the game and it's restricted to that.

Wierd. I have never heard about china restricted key. I too wonder what this entails? And is there other "insert country" restricted key?

It means you get the edited version for china where they change the skin tone of the protagonist to appeal more to Chinese audiences.

I mean Disney did scale down John Boyega in the last Star Wars film poster when he was prominent on non-Chinese releases so i wouldn't put it past China to have some..."changes". In regards to the skin color, idk, I haven't seen a Chinese version of the game because if im being honest. I wouldn't think it would even have a market there to be sold.

He probably bought a key from a third party site ( not allowed btw ).
And he didn't check the region.

Hmm. A couple of years ago i bought Euro Truck simulator DLC keys from kinguin. So this is not allowed anymore? Will i get banned from this?

And about this china restriction on the game for OP. Does it even mean anything? Again. IM really curius about what this (if any) means. I also tried to look for my Euro truck DLC licence. And it says no such thing as china restricted. So it makes even less sense :/

The reason is because of how these keys are sourced. usually through stolen, illegal means. Your key isnt also safe because if found out, they can be revoked and you lose your money and game. Its why people havily suggest using GMG as their keys seem to be sourced ethically at least.

Nope. Nothing yet. I guess I'll know once the game is playable. Not the 24th here yet.

Sounds like you got scammed, but yeah you're taking a risk as the guy above pointed out.

But in the end it means his key is illegal then? So its a key not for use outside china. Or it has differences inside the game maybe for china use only?
