its not about a godlike guidance, its about expectations and viewpoints, when a majority says a game sucks
Unless you are out of the norm or you like niche, then the game usually sucks for the common gamers. Noone is an idiot, if someone else can see the problems everyone can too. Depends on your experience with games. There are so many games out there for the value overall in terms of past triple A titles vs now.
Some people do not want to spend 70 dollars on a game when they can buy 7 cartons of eggs for the price.
Keep in mind most of the time these reviews will very likely be a build without the usual day 1 patch.
Only concern I have is performant. I just want to play it day one with no issue.
Tried to tell them what? Find some unbiased reviews. Most out right now are very mixed. Not god awful. But mixed 6 of 10 and 7 of 10. Definitely not a great game by those standards. But it will find a spot with it.
When a game is released it should not have to be a 9/10 to just be considered a 'good' game. And if that is what you want, its a very dangerous precedent.
An example of a railroaded game. Mass Effect: Andromeda. Very much mixed score. Even here on steam. Usually jumping from positive to mostly positive total reviews. Had it not come out on steam, I would NEVER had tried it due to the constant stigma and bad mouthing everyone did.
Took a chance after I saw the scores here. Turns out I liked it. Just like most other people who gave it a fair shake. To many love to jump on the fail band wagon before even giving it an unbiased look. I learned my lesson. When will you?
Now if it was a NBA game with a $70 pricetag, i'd understand. (snickers)
So what I am gettings is. You watched a review and you decided you disliked it. Then came here to tell everyone who watched a review and liked it that they are wrong.
I honestly don't know if it will be good. All I know is reviews are mixed. Which generally means some will like it. Some won't.
Honestly reminds me of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Reviews were so bad I didn't give it a chance. Years later it comes out on steam. I see it has positive reviews... decide to try it and low and behold, its half decent.
At some point, I realized sometimes the bandwagon is not always the best informed. Sometimes, you have to let the fireworks calm down, then get an unbiased review for yourself. You might be surprised by some games that you once thought were 'bad'
Well said
