In terms of efficiency, you are right. But when it comes to a game it depends on how well the application (game engine for that matter) will make use of the available memory. Given this, I won't deny that not only most of SquareEnix's PC games but mainly Luminous Engine do not make the best use of RAM, you can get Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition as an example, it took years for most users to be able to play that game smoothly, at max settings at least.
I mean, you will be able to play, just don't expect DooM Eternal level of compatibility.
Do you have two sticks of 8 GB DDR5 RAM or just one stick of 16 GB?
