File is broken. Try re-install of game.
I had this issue at the beginning of the game and found a community led solution to fix it. This worked until I reached past chapter 9. Now I get (pardon my own pun) random crashes, producing the error message above to appear on screen.

This is getting old and the game's only been out just over a week. It's spoiling what has been an enjoyable experience so far.

Before anyone says a thing about my rig's capability, it can hold its own. 5800x, 32Gb, RX 6750XT 12gb, game installed on m.2.sata. Benchmarks giving average 100fps with load times between 1.1 and 3.2 secs on 2K settings.

Game file integrity has been checked and nothing is out of place or sync.

So what gives Devs? Do the right thing and address these issues like the others do.

Do you have anything overclocked? I did and it gave me that error as well, put everything back to normal and didn't had any crash since
Nothing mate. Running factory speeds on everything. Will re-check though.

okay. I did mention that game file integrity was checked, not that I need any education on the topic. That said, all checks done today have come back fine. What I won't be doing is reinstalling the 100+gb game.

But factory could in fact be an overclock.
What’s your cpu and mobo?
Perhaps mobo is auto-overclocking

I had the same issue when I bought the game. I would load a save, and within 5 seconds that error message came up. But in my case, verify files fixed the problem. It downloaded less than 1mb of something, what it was I have no idea. I've put in over 15 hours since, with zero crashes.

Do you place this game on HDD?

Game is installed on m.2.sata drive. No issues with loading.

Perhaps... BIOS setting was normal operation clocking all cores at same speed. Ryzenmaster however, had other ideas, figuring it would override the BIOS and set the cores to auto OC. That was nipped in the bud and so far, fingers crossed, it seems to have settled a bit (Thanks @xCrossFaith for the prompt - have some points.) As for factory settings, the video card is factory OC'd, but that would be a bit crude of the developers to eliminate anyone from playing based on the card they own. Besides, the video quality or processing of it is not even an issue or hurdle I need to think about. The rig does me proud :)

AMD Ryzen 5800X 8/16T CPU
AMD Radeon RX6750XT 12Gb 3-fan
DDR4 32Gb memory
MSI X570 Pro Motherboard
Corsair H115i LC
512Gb M.2.Sata Sabrient Rocket
5Tb Toshiba X300 HDD

The bigger question is why is overclocking so taboo? Why does this game get to govern how we run our systems? Not that I believe for a millisecond OC even has anything to do with this game's extremely poor PC port.

Game still crashing despite rendering my CPU to beginner mode, all for the sake of this game too. Shame on me.

Don't worry they'll be back.

As an off the wall guess, do you have third party sound software running? Horizon Zero Dawn has many of the same sensitivities to sound settings and another commonly cited remedy is to change windows sound output to 24/16 bit 48 (or less) kHz.
Sound is not the issue bud. It was, at the start, but sorted quick enough. At the moment the game crashes so often, it's impossible to justify putting any more time in. HZD: I've owned that on PC since day zero and the only problem I encountered with it was HDR messing with the graphics (was using nVidia card at the time too.) Turned off it played flawlessly. No sound issues at the time either.

do you have amd tech in your rig?

The answer's up the page and in the OP. That and the game is a PS5 original. AMD tech is at the heart of the PS5 so not sure where the question is leading.

And thanks to all btw, for the kind support so far. :steamhappy:
The devs do watch these discussions but they're not so quick at jumping in with any help. Makes no sense. If they did I would edit out all the passive aggresive sarcasm from the previous posts. Might even change my review if they let me finish the thing.
