I watched that video and makes the whole thing sound so unprofessional. He gave his reasons, which are understandable, but then it's clear he dropped the project, left the studio, and didn't even care if the product was good enough.
Is the game playable? Sure. Can you finish it? Yeah. The problem is this version still has many issues that the GoG version doesn't have. For starters, if you play in languages other than English, the videos will still have English audio, the shooting apparently still has issues, the menus have typos in other languages, not to mention they feel slow and buggy. The blurry backgrounds are still a thing which kills the aesthetic and feels more like a bad fan-made attempt, and that's just off the top of my head.
I've seen people saying it's no big deal because code changes hands all the time and they could hire someone else to work on this game, but I highly doubt that. Nightdive is clearly working on other games and they have been completely silent about this one, so it definitely feels like they quietly dropped the project and moved on while hoping people forget about the whole thing. They did say on the only interview they gave that a patch would come out "when it's ready," and we aren't asking for a date, just merely a "yes, we're still working on this" and they can't even bother to say that. Are they going to pull a cyberpunk 2077 and take two years to get the game to what it should have been at launch?
As it stands, I'm definitely not getting any more games by nightdive or mvg.
I wont write nightdive off just yet as this is their first blunder, and the rest of their output is superb, with them tending to go above and beyond with everything else. (Making sure doom/quake 64 has proper n64 texture filtering, still adding more to shadowman, ect)
As for MVG well, I used to be a big fan of his videos, even dismissing my more programming aliened friends than myself criticisms of him as being nitpicks, not so sure about that anymore. 100% will not be watching him now and will take major cautions buying anything with his name attached now.
Unlike the studio's issues fixing "BLOOD: Fresh Supply" -- no megapublisher (ATARI) is stopping them from doing further work on 'Blade Runner'.
It would behoove them to take the project seriously, and turn a black eye into a shining example of dedication to their customer base.
The wallets are watching.
Yes i left Night Dive Studios at the end of Sept 2022 however I was working on what was known as 'Patch 2' for Blade Runner : EE . I can tell you that he game hasnt been abandoned and that patch is still in the works. I cant give you timing around it because i dont know however the directive from Management was that the patch wouldnt come out until everything was *rock solid*. Once again, the patch/game has not been abanadoned.
Night Dive Studios always do quality work and while BR was a stumble , they have a dedicated team and they will make it right
i hope this helps
Dimitris - MVG
Thank you. That's all I needed to know.
I'm ok with not having any dates and waiting until it's ready, but the zero ammount of communication to just say "we/they are still working on it" was really disheartening.
Really appreciate you taking time to respond to the fans. It's very much appreciated and I wish more devs could engage with their community on this level.
I really hope this will be a true patch that elevates the game to the standards that we were all expecting. BR has always been one of my all-time favorite games for over 20 years and it breaks my heart to see how many people have been turned away from the game simply because it wasn't done right.
Otherwise great game.

As a customer, I would like my issue addressed -- nothing had changed for me after waiting for nearly half-a-year for today's patch.
Thank you.
