This isn´t a remaster or remake in the most used form of the word. The graphics have not being improved and there are issues new to this version, initially there were tons of animations missing, although that has being fixxed in the latest patches.
You would have to look online for the real pros to tell you exactly all the little small details between the versions, but for me, they are not different enough.
If you want to have the game on Steam and get achievements, go for it, if you want to buy it expecting a completely different game or newer graphics or something, then don´t.
Hope this helps.
i guess the new version works without ScummVM
maybe someone can confirm this
still the original version is included
"enhanced"
and as a matter of that details get lost ...
but you can switch at any time by pressing 'q'
the main point is, the app is running without scummvm
i can select language from within the game and it will run on linux too (proton)
not the gog version of course but from within the steam client.
yes scummvm will also run on linux but this way its more comfortable and it is not expensive. Of course a full remaster 16:9 would be great, also with updated model but maybe the market is not there for that game.
also it has cloud saves
i have windows too ... so it works there as well
Plus achievements and being able to store pictures in the cloud. In the end, that´s all there´s to it for the Steam version for most older games. I think the issue will always be the "enhanced edition" title, most people expect with that title some improvements.
I still think it´s worth it though, even for people that own on GOG the scumm version. It´s a perfect excuse to replay this amazing gem. There´s a high chance we´ll never see a game like this, ever.
