I pressume the remaster would be the same, although I´ve read on this very same forums when the game launched that it wasn´t working as intended, but it may have being fixxed already. Someone already owning the game could probably tell you better, I´currently still weighting the option to buy it. Love this game, but the mixxed reviews really make me rethink it over and over.
It seems to me that most of the negative reviews are due to the technical state of the game before the latest update, which seem to have been fixed now. It runs fine for me, but I much prefer the original graphics, which are easy to toggle to.
I still own a physical copy of the OG though, but obviously my main home PC has no CD reader lol, can only play it on some of the laptops I own, not even all. It sits comfortly as an exposition item along other adventure game physical copies I couldn´t throw away out of nostalgia when stopped buying physical media.
Regardless, whatever I buy it now or later, I still think tech issues or without them I´m just glad the game is available on Steam, if it was just an excecutable on Scumm for the old one I would be happy any way, so any modernization and achievements are extremelly welcomed for me. That´s why it hurted me when the mixxed reviews started to come in on day 1, it was great to know Im not crazy and more people loved the game and had nostalgia for it, still to this day I surpraise people when I tell them there´s a Blade Runner game.
Specially feel sorry for the devs, this game original code was gone, they had to completely recreate an entire game out of the blue, despite the tech issues, I think people really went against them demanding and harrassing them for all minor details when we should be thankfull the game has being somehow restored despite all the legal shenanigans around it. Hell, the fact they convinced EA to allow it and don´t force Origins on the game is another miracle we should be thankfull.
I am playing the enhanced edition on original graphics and have been getting achievements just fine. I didn't know they had to recreate everything from scratch, gz for that.
