Gameplay is pretty good, but UI is hideous in this game. Not only it kinda looks bad, but often is non-intuitive and barely functional.

You're basically in the place were other train game was - Sweet Transit.

That or spend an entire development cycle purely on UI/UX improvement. I think there's a solid game in here, and lots of people enjoying it despite the UI, so content and structure and gameplay is in largely the right place already.

yes ik that, but alot of ppl seem to think its a complete game and expect it as such, which is why they weirdly complain about the UI being lacking or missing features

Guess you missed the part where the devs said that they don't know if they have the capacity to improve the UI but will look to do so specifically because of how extensive the feedback has been about it. Stop making excuses and help make the game better.

Because it isn't in "Developer Log 9 - All aboard for the Next Fest Demo!" or in "Developer Log 9a - The Next Fest Demo is Now Available!", which instead actually say:

Please be aware that the Next Fest Demo might include some bugs and unexpected experiences. Thus, we encourage you to report any issues, share your feedback, and any cool ideas you'd like us to consider for the game on our discussion board, or in our Discord.

But if that's not enough for you, here's what the devs have said about it:

Right now we've outlined improvement of a UX as the most noticeable request from the community, e.g. office staff management etc. Additionally, we can see that even though this or that feature is present in the game, some of the players do not know about it's existence, e.g. locomotive in the train can be switched into a newly discovered model without necessity to re-create a new train, to assign route and so on.

From one point of view it seems good that these are the most critical issues people experience, but from the other hand it might be quite hard to improve such things right away. Improving UI (redesigning in some places) might be challenging considering size of our team. Still we see the request and our efforts will be directed there as well :)

And you're telling me that this isn't in any way a surprise to the developers and they knew well in advance that their UI wasn't good enough and didn't need to be told? Sure.

As this thread become a little bit hot, I need to tell that both statements are right.

The game is not finished. This Demo is a quick peek of the future game and show current game progress. Some things are simply not implemented yet, or implemented temporary just for the Demo. That's why it doesn't mean that you see the game as it will be released.

In the same time we indeed want to gather as much of feedback as possible to see what we are doing in the right direction, and what not. Any feedback, complaint or suggestion is appreciated for us.
