Obra Dinn references? (spoilers)

What Obra Dinn references have you noticed? There is a mermaid with a spear in the inn , a ship appearing in several scenes, and a cannon murder scene in the last case (cannon being taken from the ship) . Anything else?

I didn't notice any direct references, but kept thinking about that game during the whole playthrough. In fact, it's tempting to go back and replay that one now that I've completed this fine game.

Tbh wouldn't mind some more games in this very specific and niche genre / setting / narrative!

The ship does strike a chord now that you mention it. In the last case, one of the "clues" is a ship floating offshore, that appears to have absolutely nothing to do with the case. A ship in the background would be one thing, but a clickable ship you can zoom in on for no reason? It doesn't really look like the Obra Dinn, but what is it doing there at all?

Not really for no reason, you can see that ship is missing a cannon, so John's in the inn is not telling truth. But I guess it can be a nice reference too. :)

Monkey Paw Island in the first part, where Albert kills Oberon, must refer to Obra Dinn.
