DLC Case 2 - Code?
I already beat the DLC and was able to figure out the hidden message about if you fail / the mouth of the statue but I only was able to 'cheat' to do so, basically brute forcing it in my head to figure out which letters turned into words.

What was the proper way to figure this out?

What did the picture of the lion I was supposed to use to decode it mean?

For the message hidden in the People of Albion, you're supposed to use "The Seven Seas Company's gift to the Raja", i.e. the devil statue as the cipher. You then pick the word most related to the devil statue in each line and take the first letter.
If you do that you get IF YOU FAIL LOOK IN MY MOUTH

Ah, yeah I was able to get that correct message. I just didn't realize the right way I was supposed to do so.

Guess I was over-thinking it with the example one. I was trying to count things, etc.

Either way, thanks, I get it now.

I was the same as the OP here and never figured out what the key was supposed to be. Just looked for most thesaurus'd words in the message.

Yeah, I too brute forced it but in hindsight it makes a bit more sense. Particularly on thinking about The Lion message. Every word highlighted relates the lion somehow / in some way. 'Roar,' 'Pride,' 'King' and whatever the other ones are. It is a bit vague to be honest.
Picture is key. Everything relates in someway to the "key". The statue is the key to the learn Albion note as the green ink (a note from oberon) says to study while at the statue. It's a devil statue so themes of hell, fear, demons, etc. First letter of each word that fits the theme and each paragraph is a single word.

Honestly that whole puzzle was really counter-intuitive. And not even all that necessary to solve the case either. Encoding shouldn't use something subjective like that...
