Stuck at King boss fight Act 2
Despite my best efforts of grinding, I haven't been able to beat the king in Act 2. Any tips and tricks would be welcomed!

Alright, I'm going to give advice with the assumption that you have both the keyknife, and the craft bomb (if you don't know, you can in fact get both the keyknife and bomb when looping straight to the King, using memory of keyknife first when looping to him, then looping to him again with memory of bomb equipped (Keyknife at that point is already equipped, so you can't lose it)) there's only a few things I can give in terms of advice with that in mind. either save the bomb for when the King gets to around 60-50 percent and spawns the tears, or try and save your jackpot for that point instead, as either will just clear out the tears while hitting the King. Another piece of advice is making sure Mirabelle's shield skill is off cool-down when the King goes under 40 percent. I don't know the exact specifics, but the King does do the one shot attack twice or thrice even if your fighting long enough, so Mirabelle is Doubly important here, if the shield skill is still on cool-down, then use a salty broth on her (the king will still wait a turn before using the one shot when he decides to do it again). ALSO, when using slow on the King, try to get Odile's turn as close to the start of the Kings next turn wind-up as you possibly can, that way you get maximum benefits from slow if the King shakes it off on his turn. I don't think theres much more I can offer in terms of advice from here now, other than maybe use Odiles craft break to let scissor attacks be effective, so you can put stuff like buy one get one three to use on the King.

Duly noted!! I appreciate the in-depth breakdown and optimizations. I kept getting wiped closer to 30% health, so I'll put this game plan to good use. Thank you!

Don't forget that this is literally the last chance to use your tonics and spices. If you're like me you should have a huge stockpile from not using them on the earlier bosses, and if you didn't do that you can just do a run through the house where you stock up. Siffrin is the best for using these since all his attacks have type disadvantage against the king.

The bomb makes a way bigger difference than the keyknife, since it reliably takes out the tears quickly and Siffrin has no paper attacks at this point. It's also easier to get. It's also extremely important to get the paper gloves for Isa on floor 3.

If you can't kill the tears right away, pay very careful attention to what buffs or debuffs they apply. If you immediately apply the opposite effect you'll overwrite it. Spices can easily overwrite the debuffs, and Isabeau and Odile can overwrite buffs (though they're also your main attackers).

in my experience, cycling through different jackpots got me better dps than just going for all paper attacks, as you don't end up running into craft cooldowns as often.

Thank you all for your insight and input! I finally gave the King a butt kicking and was able to progress in this wonderful game.
