Hellcats work, use them in combo with Shermans or in groups to outspeed and flank.
Its underused because it doesnt effing work. Ive been trying to use it and firing point blank at an enemy squad and it literally doesnt do damage.
Hellcats arent affordable enough to waste by sending them up so people use them like Jacksons. They are too light skinned and there is way way way too much AT in the field to use their speed capabilities. I wouldnt even consider them fast like the m10 was.
The Chaffee with the proper AP and speed upgrades works way better as a fast flanking vehicle than does the M18.
Hang on doesn't the HE barrage have a minimum range, or am I wrong? Maybe that's why it's not working?
Tightrope has a vid where he uses it a heap and rushes HE barrage m18s in games. Does pretty consistent damage and takes out a few models every time.
I agree though that hellcats are expensive enough and not quite fast enough that rushing them in becomes a very expensive proposition since you will most likely lose a few. I don't think it's too UP though, maybe just needs a small cost reduction or something.
The last two patches fixed the rotation speeds, they're definitely flankable now. I agree that the Chaffee is a bit better, but I reckon it's also to do with it's size which makes it more nimble.
IT HAS AN HE BARRAGE OPTION FOR ANTI INFANTRY
Yeah that's another problem.
Yeah it essentially does nothing.
