I actually think the balance was way better and more fun during light vehicles spam and before a lot of these reworks.
Yes your correct. Allies have gone to pot since the installation of the last upgrade. All the useful weapons have been pushed back so there is more infantry combat. However Axis have the better equipped infantry so they take the important points like the tickers and then the fuel/ammo then it is hard struggle for allies, until game over.
And I just played a match where the opponent was spamming air support and arty like crazy. Wiped us out completely holding positions, then they just blob pushed through before we could even reinforce, and I had kept soldiers in reserve just for rotation cuz I knew it was coming.
They need to do something. For about 9 months its been a slow decline in fun to play.
Its really disheartening.
they need to balance the ACTUAL numbers on damage and costs with the vehicles.
The game should NOT be a vehicles spam. Wars are won by men, not machines.
Combined arms fire utilisation is an allied invention by the way, not one from axis. We still see the basic differences in that when I was a US Marine even in this era... where the British adopted our ways, but EU still fights very much in the same war doctrine as WW2 in a lot of ways.
They need to reduce the cost of infantry, increase the cost of vehicles. Increase Vehicle HP, And make players use tanks and LAVs as they should be. As support, not attack structure.
And OMG stop with the arty and constant air support. At least increase the cooldown if you refuse to increase the cost.
Axis is FAR easier. Its not even close man. And if you have a buddy on yoru side and its not 1v1 its even worse.
Axis needs a nerf, badly. NOT EVERYWHERE, but in places that even by internal metrics, the devs can see there is an issue. They state as much during their live plays.
Im of the opinion they are refusing to fix it because they are afraid fanboys like yourself are going to leave the game and quit like a child when you have to stop running blob spam 99 percent of your matches.
The differences between Allied and Axis cheese are CLEAR.
EVERY allied strategy, even cheese ones, have a DIRECT counter that will work 100 percent of the time. You just have to recognise it.
The Axis, DOES NOT. Your cheese is universally near impossible to deal with already, You have to hope that the person playing specifically messes up his rotation or development structure. Because their early game is JUST THAT GOOD for an axis player.
And the way the game is currently developed, and balanced, early game matters A LOT. There is no "comeback" mechanic, so once they burn you down early, its an 8 minute match often.
The only way to beat Axis curently is to purposely hold back on points close, then try to expand out. Problem of course is that Axis then holds all control points and 50 percent more resource points, and you are at a FULL disadvantage.
If you can go late, and not run out of points, you can MAAAAYBE turn it around.
But most often, NO. youre done either in 8 minutes or fighting a losing battle for half an hour.
Honestly what do you expect, 4v4 has been DAKs playground for most of the games existence. People keep acting like the community is allied bias while ignoring the fact the most popular game mode has been dominated by DAK for most of its lifetime.
So when I look at the stats it looks pretty even. Why do you want to nerf the Axis when the Allies have a slightly higher win rate?
Faction Winrate 2v2
US Forces 50,3%
British 50,6%
Wehrmacht 49,1%
DAK 50,1%
its artificially even due to ELO forcing a 50% W/L ratio.... if your on a win streak, in multiplayer, ELO will force a bad team member on your team to make you likely to lose
Mortars and artillery are pinpoint accurate. This means its more than just a suppression tactic, it may as well be sniping. Ive tried really hard to like the game and there is fun here to a degree. But it was already too late when it started so poorly.
Easy factions: Wehr, Brits
Mediocre factions: USF
Hard faction: DAK
Allies are easier since Brits are better than Wehr.
Yes, Wespe needs a nerf, but so does Rangers and Pathfinders.
After the Update USF will be No 1 in utility. Elephant and Kingtiger are slow and have low dmg output. USF will still dominate everything. However they will have a winrate of 55%+ in a week of time after the release. Mark my words.
The life of an Axis player is incredibly though.
Mark my words
That depends what game mode you playing. DAK has had it best in 4v4 for a long long time. Id say probably the easiest 4v4 faction to play, just so many cheese abilities. But 1v1's there hard.
Its quite simple, at the start its mobility. You can just abuse the side that isnt your side. Flamer clown car or 250/9's into the other lanes flank at the right time = multiple wipes. If allies get AT you just ignore it and play where it isn't. (I just had a game where my 2 250/9's wiped 6 units from the other lane at the 5 min mark, its stupid)
The main worst offender is Espionage BG. If you don't have the flare counter its gg your lane. But the counters are few and far between and normally require specific builds. Like you cannot play aussie light, 0 flare = gg. But DAK doesnt even have to play this BG, you have to account for it before you even see it as you need so many flares to hold it at bay and that massively effect unit and army compositions available. (Btw I see this BG all the time at 1600+ elo so unlike popular belief its not trash).
Even with it getting countered by flare is has very strong abilities, the AT nade, flame shells, MP trading caches (When DAK is meant to be MP starved and in that BG that already preserves it the best). Oh and the funk can cap and place heavy AT mines also passively gives you muni, cuz why not.
2nd worst is armoured, Loiter, do I have to say any more. Use it at the right time, GG tank. No other off map in this game is a guaranteed kill but this one is. And the right time is not some hard thing to do, its just drop it down when you know it will kill the tank. Panzer storm ignores mines, the light tank blob counter.
Btw the stuka bomb drop is also crazy ability that is under used. I used this so many times to wipe out ranger blobs its funny AF.
Honestly I could go on an write about 2 pages of A4 about the issues with DAK. But it mostly comes down to this. The DAK builds limit massively what allies can play. Somehow at the start of the game allies need enough flares and AT to stop DAK irrelevant of what DAK is actually playing. Now remember this too you dont have the stay in your lane, just imagine what happens if you swap sides into say someone without any flares.
Not only does it cause balance issue but it makes the game boring AF, this is also why you see people complain about the same allies spam builds as if you could actually do something different and not get stomped by esp or armoured.
An officially "bugged" Wespe, which negates team weapon play and forces you into aggressive armor play. Followed up with a unit perfect for denying and punishing exactly this sort of play - the Panther. Combine with Jäger spam, which you'd need aforementioned team weapons to properly deal with and there you go.
Thank you, got it. Well, I would like to add something to your reasoning with the same clown car 250, yes, they definitely make the allies play more diversely, because in what situation can this car cause a problem? If you spam machine guns, Australians, pathfinders and everything that does not have anti-tank functions, if the allies play with bazookas, grenades and boiz, they become useless for some kind of explosions and all the potential disappears along with the resources spent on them. Yes, it makes the allies play monotonously to counter this, but the developers themselves simply did not leave a choice to play differently for DAK, so by the way, they are very easy to counter because of this, because it is quite obvious how a player on DAK will play.
Espionage BG, this is all in, this is literally you hope that the allies will not have flare and the probability of this is extremely small, because if it will be then all your features become very ineffective, and if it will not be then yes you are strong, and what is there to run to the other flank to look where there is no flares, well, the enemies can also change the flank, what's the problem? Well, in fact, these castlings where you leave an ally 1 conditionally against two because they have flare sounds ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I would say in this BG, in fact, the most broken crap is flak + invisibility + arson, if you shoot two of them in turn, it kills any medium tank)
About dropping a bomb from a Stuga, yes, it is cool, but it is the same thing that the USF has, through an improvement in the headquarters. Only more expensive, closed behind the BG quite far, it has a larger explosion radius than that analogue, but it is still the same game on attentiveness, all you need to dodge or retreat, so in fact I do not see anything special in it if the player is attentive you will never be able to hit with it, and you will not be able to throw them so often because it is too expensive.
