The one good thing about this play however is that you leave them open to counters to that, as your bunkers don't cost pop whereas their mortars do. Infantry and tank rushes will obliterate an opponent that is focusing on bombarding you because you have bunkers everywhere.
There's a way to play the BG that takes a bit of getting used to and I think a lot of people think it's just to plant a bunch of bunkers everywhere.
When that BG was released it was much better...now its been nerfed TF
seriously this BG is USELESS.
Another thing.. Allied infantry is super OP. i have no idea how to counter this with coastal. ( ive been playing since COH1)
I wish i could get a refund for this BG lol.
Things i dont like in COH3 ( i still think its the best one yet - yes im pretty new to it)
1 - Snipers are way to easy to kill... they have a range barely more than a rifleman squad & get raped after shooting just once. - need a buff.
2 - blobs - these were always a problem.in 1 & 2... but ppl just blob up and run straight at massive heavy tanks... n0t much can beat this unless you get a lucky arty strike... this blob problem only exists because we have a retreat mechanic that makes infantry act like hit and run units ( which is just silly)
3 - Allied infantry is far Superior to Axis early on.
4 - coastal is a fu**ing joke. - i understand not wanting to have an inpenetrable defensive BG ingame.. but it seems like its been nerfed too much.... when you have to inest in defense it SHOULD be OP compared to an attacking force...because most of your resources go into it and once its gone you hyave nothing left.. but attacking forces can always retreat and come back for more. - BUFF.
Yes im not very good even though ive been playing for 18+ years... imj just pointing out whats clearly not right ( snipers are literally a joke unless you keep them as a forward observer only)
Flamethrowers DO do an awful lot of damage and I honestly believe it needs to be toned down. It does more damage than AT guns, tanks, mortars and basically everything else. I say this as a Brit main, it needs a nerf.
Snipers could use a bit more range, but they are pretty decent units still. They just need a lot of micromanaging to be effective, which most people don't bother with. I'd say they are probably a high skill player unit, which is why I don't use them much and I don't see them much!
Blobs are hard countered by HMG units, which can be obtained very early on. If the blob is big, you may need 2 or more, but it works. Axis in particular have it good as they have vehicles that also provide suppression.
Allied infantry is strong in certain circumstances. From a UKF standpoint the Sappers are incredibly strong if you can get them in close, the key is to not let them get close. Infantry sections are pretty good generally, but if you spec them into BOYS they drop a lot of damage. The only other unit they have is foot guards which I don't use as they arrive too late in the game for me and I can't justify them over a matilda for example. Axis have good infantry too however, Wehr having access to amazing infantry early on too. The jaegers are ridiculously strong at long range for example. I feel the infantry is generally balanced, although the grenade launcher spam for axis needs toning down, it's far too effective.
Coastal is a hard BG to use tbh, but if you can coordinate with a teammate and get them to cover you a bit, it can be a game changer. I've lost many games because a coastal BG user was allowed to build up their cluster of bunkers, which are incredibly hard to take down once they are up, particularly if you get artillery or mortar units to back them up. One MG and one AT bunker with the command bunker and a mortar is enough to generally keep anything at bay. There isn't much in the UKF arsenal that can counter an established and well supported bunker system.
Costal is indeed the most useless BG at the moment. Bunkers and Costal Reserve infantry are both incredibly weak. Artillery is way to accurate and flamers to strong which means that there is way to many easy counters.
