Is there really no way to delete units?

If your engineers get stuck retreat them, they'll go back to your HQ but your stuck soldier/soldiers will stay where they are. if you go focus on a different part of the battle at some point the stuck soldier will be teleported to the squad. I don't know how long it is, but I've had it happen to me. (Most frequently happens when I'm placing anti vehicles barriers.
