why would a bazooka hit a squad with little to no damage?
I noticed while playing especially with bazooka squads when at any interaction with other squads a bazooka hit might be accurate (the enemy isn't hiding or covered) but still damage is very little or no damage at all. at least it should be 'crew shocked'?

Bazooka deals 60 damage. All units have 80+ health per model. Go figure.

I could write a book on how aoe damage in video games is ridiculous. And fantastically inaccurate. Not just in war games.

Apparently, all developers must have tested this in the past decades an decided, it would be no fun, if units would be stunned or damaged - or both - ... unless the projectile or bomb(!) hits the most narrow of hitboxes?

'Blast radius'? 'Shock wave'? Never heard of it.

At least in Quake you can rocket-jump?

It's balance reasons. Bazooka is an anti-vehicle weapon not anti-infantry. If Bazookas were good at killing infantry Bazooka squads would be anti-everything.

Somehow, 75 mm GMC M3 can do exactly that.
What makes me mad is that pjeagers nail models consistently with their AT rifle. They arent good AI units but I often see them drop a model or 2 on rangers with the AT rifle.
Can zooks get a similar accuracy or slight aoe against units in cover? instead they are outright useless at AI without popping 35 muni on the ability.

identical role, similar unit, very different performance

He has a point there, at least that can't get explained away with "for balance".

Realism isn't even an argument you could try to make, otherwise you'd be frying friendly squads behind your zook everytime you fired it...and arty would reach across the whole map, so would tank shots...and so on...
Because that only works in Battlefield 4. ;)

No one is advocating for that. Just similar performance to other units in the same likeness and role.

Of course they have very different performance, they're different units in a different faction. Surely you wouldn't want all factions to play the same?

Bazookas have the extremely important advantage of being able to actually harm heavy armor, whereas PJ become next to worthless if there aren't light vehicles around.
Meh.... They counter medium armor mainly. There is no heavy armor on Allies besides Matilda. And pjeagers definatley do work against allied medium armor, especially with their camo. Yeah the zooks do more AT damage AFTER an expensive upgrade.

Pjeagers have the added functionality of casually and consistently killing AI models.
zooks dont.
So you get relatively equal AT performance, with significantly better AI that comes out early.
DAK doesnt have to make the trade off of no AI if they get AT, US does, and thats the problem.

all thats needed is a small amount of damage to units in cover. Zooks should be good at fighting units in buildings for instance. In an open fight they should get crushed.

they do not counter medium armor.. a PJ's chance of penetrating a Sherman frontally is around 25%.
