2. It is in the game, i saw it (Stug G & Stug E)
3. so far one commander or battlegroup can unlock the Panther for 8 CP on his last tier and you can call it multiple times on the field
4. This game is mostly call ins so dont need to tech for all buldings (games are way shorter so many games are not going to late game) I won most of my games with medium tanks. Feels like big tanks are more for team games
5. Not sure but resources works more like coh1 (fuel, ammo, mp points)
simplified (coh2 to coh3)
ostheer = wehrmacht
okw = Afrikakorps (DAK)
Panzer 3/Crusader = Medium tank
Panzer IV/Sherman = Heavy tank
Tiger/Churchill = Super heavy tank
This is borne out in the data. In CoH 1 Sherman had 636 hp and did 87.5 dmg per shot while Panzer IV had 600 hp and did the same damage. In CoH3 Shermans and Panzer IVs have nearly a thousand hp and do around 120 dmg per shot.
but you got your tactical nuke (or what the hell it was) that destroyed a single area defending a VP (and its surroundings)...in one bloody blow....10-15 units destroyed (and they were not next to each other).
Maybe it's meant to be equivalent of German's "Tiger Ace"? Which will probably be added later to COH3 as well.
Unintended design for the BP, should be different at launch -- as is currently, it is pointless to take however
First of all, I'm talking about gameplay, not real life. The Sherman and Panzer 4 has the HP and damage of a heavy tank in CoH 1 and 2. They have about 1000hp and 120 damage, which is roughly the same as a Tiger 1 in CoH 1. For comparison the Sherman/p4 only had 600 HP and 87 dmg in CoH 1 and 2.
Second, Sherman tank has heavier front armor than a Tiger 1 tank due to the sharp slope. The M4 and all subsequent variants had 64mm of front armor sloped at 47 degrees, giving it an effective armor of 127mm compared to 100mm for the Tiger.
Third, whilst the Germans considered The panther tank to be a medium tank by doctrine, it had the physical and performance characteristics of a heavy tank. Panther weighted about the same as an IS-2 and Pershing, had a gun roughly comparable(tho worse at HE), and due to its technical deficiencies was as slow as a heavy tank. During British testing the cross country speed of the panther was actually slower than the Churchill VII.
1. No. The teching structure is different. You just construct the requisite buildings. There are three tiers of buildings, but you have two options for the second tier, each of which gives a different set of units.
2. The StuG is ingame as a tank destroyer.
3. Yes.
4. The second tier of buildings you probably only need one of.
5. CoH3 uses the CoH1-style of resource points, which can be either small, medium, or large. CoH3 regular strategic points do not offer anything except a small manpower boost.
The regular Churchill is pretty amazing so no real complaints.
2 normal stug is locked behind a upgrade in the 3rd building
3 panthers are unlimited
4 build what you need you can go low tech and depend on call ins
5 smaller fuel points + noobs whine when they get cut off from the 1
