So, SEGA is dropping Relic
And I find that a good thing.
Lets just hope the story will not repeat Bungee-activision case with good start and bad landing.

Tho it is a bit funny reading that statement "with external investor we become independent", as far as my understanding of business goes, that's the opposite of becoming independent, at best the decision making will be independent.

Anyways, it can't really be worse than it is.

Thank god, now hopefully Relic can get back to its former glory.

This external investor better be wealthy enough to keep the game going.
This smells very fishy on so many levels.
Its like qutting your minimal wage job for a better one only for the better job to be axed out immideately
hope it's for the best tbh, seems to be an amicable split

Nothing will change.
Without the talent, which Relic lost years ago, there is only a once great name of the industry.
They may even have lost all the IP Like Dawn of War and CoH which could remain at SEGA.
When will companies stop Recycling their developera?

I hope this means we can finally get Japan as a faction

Just pull the plug entirely on relic. They've only been a disappointment for the past decade.

Stop being cruel and fatalistic.

Anyways....

If we want COH3 to be fully realized this is our chance. Support the devs.

This is actually good. I am not only a fan of CoH but also of Creative Assembly. I have seen how Sega tried to force formerly independent studios to compartenalize games, and instead of making full games, sell them piecemeal for DLCs all because they believed they reached the maximum growth potential of potential customers...

This news is positive. It'll [hopefully] motivate Relic to create better content and it'll allow the company to more directly implement the needs and wants of the community. I think when they do decide to charge for additional features, people shouldn't be griefing them over it - they've got mouths to feed too.

We need to support Relic. I am even going to by a skin pack. And that i normally do not do. But i think they can use the support.

we should certainly not do that. it would only encourage them. They should make something or something good. before being paid.
That;s the problem i think. they got paid first before they had to deliver anything.

I hope this will be a golden time for Relic.

+1 to that.
Simping for company because it made something good in the past will not change anything if it started making crap.

Just look at Blizzard and OW2 and D4 fiasco as example.

Bungee and Destiny 2.

Reward studios for making good content, not simp for them when they no longer do, because that's how western AAA got to the current atrocious point of extremely low quality.

I am going to buy the skin pack in good faith that they will do well on there own. And with all the time i have played and enjoyed the game a extra ten bucks is little more than a gratuity for them. And if you guys have a problem with that i do not know what to say.

Well what gave them the biggest loss in popularity was pushing out not yet finished products and implementing unfitting stuff like in-game shops with stupid monetization practices. Goes for both CoH2 and 3. So here's to hoping stuff like that was SEGAs influence.

Back in DoW2 they did skin packs for a few bucks that changed models, voice lines and colors, eventhough the game had an army painter. It was something nice on top to freshing things up and most importantly it was a complete pack for a given price. Would be a good start, if Relic decides to go that route again and consolidate what's already there.
