Stop trying to force ppl to play your way when the moment youre losing a match youre the first one leaving everyone there.
Noone is obsessed with ELO points. The problem is the broken matchmaking that is based upon ELO points.
I have gone up against teams with way higher rank than my allies, and I've even been matched against top 100 players in 1v1 even though my ELO is just above 1K. There are also games where my opponents are lower ELO too, so it takes a few games to be evenly matched sometimes.
You lost ELO because you dropped a previous match. The ELO you lost for your dropped match was more than what that match could allow so it carried over to your next match.
Buddy, an average player will have an ELO of 900-1100 if they just play the game and don't drop matches. I drop nearly half of my matches yet manage my 1100 ELO. You have to seriously put a lot of effort in losing so many matches, the player I mentioned had nearly 2000 matches. And are you that guy from the other post who ghosted me when I asked to 1v1?
His 1v1 was 900+, 2v2 900+, 3v3 1000+... 4v4 21. That isn't indicative to good playing in 4v4.
Edit: nvm, you're just someone who can barely manage 1000 elo calling others out for the better numbers lol.
The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in zero-sum games such as chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-American physics professor.
Ofc, CoH isn't chess but the numbering system can be used to determine a players relative skill level compared to his peers. Team matches can be skewed because people communicating over discord have a supreme advantage over randoms using the chat and ping features of the game. Tho, you're not running into premade teams anywhere near as often as having randoms on either team.
My issue with the player I referenced is that typically after so many matches they will be given a number, usually in the 900-1000 range. That would suggest he is doing his best to throw the matches he is a part of.
And the less than ideal people making comments defending someone who purposely joins matches to quit them is quite telling of the community as a whole.
My first experience with a sub 50 ELO player legit had taken his side of the map and got pushed back when 2 enemies grouped up on him. He began to go on a racist rant and then blew up our teams HQs. We legit had the entire map other than his little corner covvverd and he has a hissy fit. These people defending tthose players are very telling indeed.
