Can Company of Heroes 3 Pacific War be still a thing?
Can Company of Heroes 3 Pacific War be still a thing?

Its not like CoH3 is bad, but it simply lacks factions like the Soviets, Italy and Japan.

Maps are too small for carrier battle groups.

And if you think Japan or Italy would be viable factions, you don't know what their armies used.

Japan had absolutely no answer to Stuarts nor they had anything that would be as good as stuart.

Do you think the system would be able to handle naval combat? We're on the third title and still don't even have airstrips with controllable aircraft.

It don't have to be Japan vs USA for the story mode,
Japan vs Commonwealth and russia on land would make more sense.

Also they could simply give
Japan and Italy all tech they had and as prototypes during the war for PvP.

If the Soviets were viable, Italy and the French certainly are with the P40 and the ARL-44. Christ, even Guderian sung praises of early war French armor like the B1bis. Suffering from poor leadership and equipment misuse does not mean the hardware was faulty.

DEVs wanted to save time by making two Nazi factions instead Japan and Russia... We could have kamikaze mechanics with planes and troops and other more exciting new things. We do not have summary executions of troops or suicides. A shame that it doesn't portray WW2.

Soviet union did indeed fight vs Japan on land.
Why not make story mode about that?

That's a South Korean film. Given the political sentiments between Japan and Korea, can we say we're getting an honest portrayal? War movies in general are known more for being propagantastic than historically accurate (especially when you look at some of the early US films or Russian made films). Especially when portraying one's enemies.

Japan as GLA faction from C&C Generals sounds like a valuable solution.
And soldiers using melee.

Soviet union could be more about wave tactics of badly trained soldiers.

Honest portrayal would be to make everybody the villain.

Japan and Russia have been rivals for a long time and they fought in WW2 in a brutal way. Of course the Nazis were a bigger threat to Moscow because China was a meat shield for the Russians against Japaneses.

It took Relic 9 months to add a proper replay feature into the game itself. With the layoffs earlier this year and the rather slow crawl to implement some basic features into the game, I'm not holding my breath that they can add a worthwhile representation of the Imperial Japanese Army in CoH 3 anytime soon. At this rate, we are more likely to see the IJA in a future expansion for other WW2 games like Steel Division 2 or Gates of Hell instead.

They did rather work on Age of Empires 4, where they did add 6 new factions.

why they added the tundra skin is that a hint for winter map or even soviets :cta_emo3:

Impossibru. Sega would be displeased. The Japanese to this day are still ignorant on their WWII atrocities and still view themselves as victims of Nuclear war not because of consequences. They still do pay respects to their WWII Heroes and paint them as divine fallen heroes.

Maybe if this franchise is bought by EAids. Even so, naval and jungle warfare would be very taxing on the graphics and map.

im not sure if i want anymore coh3 content... it never gets better

Honestly, I don't need another CoH game for the next 10 years. It would be appropriate for more and more content to flow into CoH3 over the next few years. relevant content, i.e. Free France, Vichy France, Italy, Greece. The Soviet Union or Japan have no place in this game. It's a Mediterranean game-theater.
I can't stand it when players dream about the next game when the current one hasn't even been released for a year yet. CoH3 isn't perfect, maybe not even good, but given enough time it can be passable.
The Soviet Union was part of CoH2. there is no reason for this faction to become part of CoH3 at some point. And if I look at the success or non-success of CoH3, then there will be no need for a new CoH in the next 5-10 years. While there seem to be some players who would be interested in a Pacific theater, I think there's a good reason they chose the Mediterranean and North Africa rather than the Pacific scenario. I can only speak for myself here, but the Pacific theater is boring. Probably a dream for American players, but I can't do anything with it. Europe's battlefields are what interest me and there is still a lot to be implemented.
