Where are people getting the idea that CoH3 will get new factions?

You have to be pretty ignorant of the state of Relic and this game to think we are ever getting new factions. Relic doesn't have the dev team do pull that off for CoH3.

No they aren't going to add Italy as a faction, or Russia, or Finland, or Japan, or China, or Liechtenstein, or Bermuda, or Tibet. It's not going to happen so just stop.

I am disappointed each faction didn't get their own BGs though. That should have been doable you would think. Still, the game is improving and does look better than at launch.

We dont ever need new factions. There is so much content they can add to the game with battlegroups. Im very concerned about how much will come and how long it will take, its snail pace at the moment.

thats their problem not ours. People have right to demand what they want and a lot of players actually want complete WW2 game with all the factions involved. Not just battlegroups.

Laughing @rich_2k3. I need Russia, pls. If they take 17€ for 2 BG (with 4 factions), they will milk the sh.. out of us. Back in the days with CoH 2 they offered 1 BG for 4 €, that wasn't cheap but ok imo.

im not sure on the source but maybe it was one of the dev videos that stated they wanted to add all factions to multiplayer at least. i mean they have SNOW skins for crying out loud. I hope we get the Russians at least.

They should just sell COMPLETE access to the Engine Editor and mods and let the modding community create the content. They would have a constant source of resources with minimal effort, but they are too stupid to help themselves.

With DLC they can add different campaigns + new factions. What is wrong with it?

Problem is if they don't at least add Russia, and Eastern Front Winter maps then content wise it's gonna always lag behind COH2. That said I do think the lackluster reception of this game at launch by the community has probably doomed it long term. They might have had a several year plan for updates/expansions that would have added Eastern Front, West Europe Front, and maybe even some new Pacific Front stuff but it probably wont happen now.

Given current world events, I don't think Russia will ever be added even if Relic were open to changing the setting of COH3 to a more global one. Heck, I don't think we will ever see Russia in a COH game ever again till things settle down.

Of course, there are players all over the world who like playing as the Russian faction but Relic (and Sega) isn't going to take the risk of others using their game as a political messaging tool (eg big strong Russia won the day! "Denazification!") if they include that faction. The fact that they are not even selling the game (Sega has pulled all of their games from Russia) in Russia, the main market for such a faction, means that there is such a political consideration.

Since Sega is the decision maker by virtue of being the one holding the purse strings, you will have to convince them to start selling their games (especially one relating to war such as this) in Russia again before even broaching the topic of including them in this game.

The silver lining in all of this is that it may push Relic to try even harder to explore other ww2 theatres such as pacific and asia.

They have already considered the eastern front against the USSR and the next sieges of Germany, France, Britain. Why go around in circles with this USSR all the time. It would be much more interesting to add the Pacific Ocean theater, India, China - here they would really fit well into the overall colorful style of the 3rd part. And all sorts of USSR, Berlin, France, leave the cloudy and depressing 2nd part, where they fit in perfectly
