for context this is what i have suggested:
Regular Engies 160 Manpower
Assault Engies: 200 Manpower
Regular Engies: 4 grease guns flamethrower and sweeper upgrade
Assault engineers: 5 grease guns with the abality to upgrade to 4 thompsons and 1 flamethrower for 75 munition
But no this suggestion is apprearnty too outrageous
I don't think that would change much.
From what I've seen an experienced, Assault Engies are just not a good Assault unit.
Their DPS is actually not terrible for a unit you can get right at the start, they just will never be able to get close enough to use it.
A flamethrower and speed increase as Upgrade would be much better than just 4 thompsons that won't fix the problem of the unit.
by introducing a squad with thompsons atleast the CQC deficeny could be resolved and its not even too outlandish either campaign has thompson assault engineers
