In general I don't like 'maining' factions - It's not a bad idea when first starting out but I would at some point play all of them. People who only play one faction struggle to understand their opponents' rosters and what they're strong against/weak to.
My biggest point of advice would be to take advantage of replays. If you lost and you don't understand how, give the replay a watch. If you still don't understand how you lost, there are more experienced players who will generally be willing to watch your replay and help provide insight.
3 V 3 AND 4 X 4 games Axis are the top leaders.
There are further updates to come in 2024, but balance at the moment is in favour of Axis.
Win rates are a very imperfect measure of balance but if you wanted to look for yourself they're available at https://coh3stats.com/stats/games?from=2023-12-12&to=now
British is generally considered the easiest and most straight forward to play, Id recommend that for beginners. Welcome to the game!
They'll nerf it after they make their money, though, and then you might have to learn combined arms the hard way.
