There are some great mods for COH1 which add a lot of realism. And tbh, the gameplay features are better than COH3 as well, and the graphics look pretty darn good still.
so CoH its your game... check Men fo War, Steel divison, Warno, Wargame ect ect... they are MUCH more real as CoH.. but totaly other gameplay... Steel divsion, warno ect have no base build but Deck build.. u must have a know how from weapons to beat it..
hope see u there :) hf
CoH is Myth, Ground Control and Sudden Strike hybrid.
And, OP, if you don't afraid of old games, try these 3. But don't touch Myth 3; 1 and 2 are good, GC2 is simply improved GC1, and the newest Sudden Strike, sadly, took too much "inspiration" from CoH2 (despite original CoH was clearly inspired by SS). I'd recommend Sudden Strike 4. Oh, and Blitzkrieg, too. There was also that Haemont Games title about Cold War crysis, forgot it's name, but CoH1, Bltizkrieg 2 and this one got released within 2 years of each other.
Two words about titles: Myth 1 and 2 have suprisingly realistic fighting (flame arrows getting extinguished durring the rain and A PROPER shield mechanic, unlike TW - it only protects from the front and the right side - that is the level of detalisation; and there is a unit's mass in the game - one MP map is recreating "football" with that: there is a goal, a big rock and collection of units that can either kill each other or push that rock; bigger units are more effective at pushing).
Ground Control isn't as realistic as it's successor World in Conflict (WiC is set durring Cold War, GC is space fantasy), but it has EVERY mechanic like elevation, directional armour and so on PROPERLY integrated into PvP mode, unlike WiC. And there is NO PRE-CALLCULATED projectiles like you have in CoH, no entity-based homming. At all. You can literally hit a hovercraft with an artillery. In that regard, CnC: Generals doesn't use pre-callculations as well, but homing is a thing (you can shield one unit with another when it's allowed). Also, Generals and CnC2 are two titles that use statistical physics the most in the franchise (later games do have this capacity thanks to the Generals engine, but they are balanced around descriptive physics for 80% or more, just like SC). And yeah, CnC2 is as old as Starcraft. And since we came to non-descriptional physics, you may try Total Anihilation: Kingdoms or Metal Fatigue (Planetary Anihilation is PoS, SupCom is a great game, but you won't see a cannon ball hitting a target here, bouncing from the ground and landing on the next one or Mecha losing a limb in a swordfight).
Oh, and there is Warhammer:Dark Omen - 1998 year's title which TW series took A LOT OF inspirations from (played it durring it's "revival" period in 2005-2007; the title itself got screwed by SC on release though). Cool guys on the Internet would suggest Shadow of the Horned Rat over this one, but, man, this one is barely a strategy game, more like a puzzle, I'd say.
Out of the newest titles: Warno, Steel Divison and Ancestor. And you may want to look into Eugen Systems previous games (Warno and SD are their creations).
And, well, Age of Mythology has realistic physics - a cyclope can throw an oomie from the cliff. But this physics is strongly limited to myth units -> human units interractions + limited per match godly powers. Beside that, it's your typical AoE game (best in the franchise, still).
Sorry, this post is rather chaotic, but I hope you will get the meaningful bits.
Oh, and Universe at War has rather advanced physics, but balance was never been here. Grey Goo and Star Wars: Empire at War use the same engine more conservatively: less realistic, but truly playable.
There are 2 non competitive series for realism.
Steel Division and Men of War.
