Worth it for Single Player vs AI?
Don't care about MP. I prefer vs AI. Bite the bullet or wait?

Not worth it as the AI is super boring to play vs. It just cant combat you anyway so it trys to spread over map outcapping territory against you.

im up around 200hours and love the game,at 1st your have fun, however as your skill up they do become very easy,im doing 1vs 3 of the hardest even that will become easy too :)and i think it is worth it
SP is a totally mixed bag.

If you want 1v1 or 2v2 CPU skirmishes, it might be alright.

3v3 has 3 maps, and 4v4 has 1.5 maps since one of the maps is just a scaled up version of a 3v3 map. So, those game sizes get old fast on CPU skirmish in SP.

Meanwhile, the North Africa campaign is okay while the dynamic Italy campaign is a shambolic mess.

So, if you like a linear campaign and 1v1 or 2v2 CPU skirmishes, it might be okay.

But it's hard to really give this a full recommendation for SP only right now.

Depends on your expectations. It's kind of fine. Devs made some questionable choices but the game itself can amuse you for a while for sure.

But if you don't mind waiting, maybe it'll be 50% off by the time they release a respectable number of maps.

I only play vs. AI either by myself or with my brother. I have logged many hours in the series and can say its fun but maybe give it 4 more months. I believe they are working on a progression system for the game (like wins/losses or ranks of some sort) right now and also will be doing a AI pass to improve AI movement and strategy. At that point you should be good to go for a solid experience. Right now its fun but little bit lacking

You can tweak the AI difficulty on both teams in Skirmish mode meaning there is potential for some good matches. Especially early on when you are still learning the game. Once you get comfortable with the game than the AI can get predictable but due to their bonus in resources they can still be competitive. My fiance and I can still get some crazy hour plus 4x4 skirmish matches occasionally.

With ragards to the two single player campaigns the N. Africa Campaign was a lot of fun but, while the Italy campaign has some big epic set piece missions, that campaign on a whole is a mixed bag.

If you are looking to scratch that WW2 RTS itch then I think CoH3 is a decent option that will only get better going forward. But as others have said if you can wait for a sale/reduced price and you are not 100% sold than there is no harm in waiting.

eh the CO OP is not that fun like the game is mostly over befor you get even TANKS out as infantry RUSH is AI tactic and you have to do the same the most people that kill infantry faster wins and when they can preduce tanks its already over same go for the AI when they kill all your units almost of FALL BACK alot of times they start to cap all your points and push you in your base that you cant get out and lose so its eather who pushes the people in there base first WINS as well

NOPE.

Even at half price I would still say NOPE.

I play skirmishes with AI and only played the scripted campaign. I actually enjoy playing the game, as I have fun with different scenarios/factions to play against.

As usual, there some great modded maps to keep things a bit fresh in the rotation by some awesome fans. I play a couple matches a week, at least, and enjoy them. I suggest upping the difficulty a bit. There are some repetitive patterns the AI will take, and sometimes, take a little longer to exploit your weakest point.

I am waiting for there to be a significant Italian campaign update, as the community discussion around it, is really not where I want a dynamic campaign to be at right now.

Only real annoying gripe I have is saving skirmishes and replays, minor bugs aside, that are not game breaking in skirmish. I have noticed that I can only save one skirmish, because newly created saves do not have the option to load, it is like they exist, but are not accessible. So, I have to only use one save when skirmishing. Replays, are well, not existent yet, but you do get a summary of the data of how your skirmish played out, as is at least in all the other COHs.

Other than that, if you are just trying to play a new COH, without multiplayer and a truly dynamic campaign, it is worth it for me just to mess around with skirmishes. But, I also have enjoyed this series since it first launched.

Campaigns will get you a bit of mileage. Strongly encourage at least Co-op vs AI for some variety. Rarely See anyone chatting in matches but sometimes you get a guy doing something funny.

Cheers, I appreciate the insight. I'll sit tight for now.
