Why is blobbing now a legit tactic and meta?
I'm talking about you AT sections.

Blobbing is always a legit tactic if you don't know how to counter it.
I have felt that the AoE of HMGs has been a bit smaller in this game, but regardless countering blobs has remained the same.

HMGs to equalise and Infantry/Mortars to deal with the ones your gun isn't suppressing.
Either your opponent will be bleeding too much manpower on re-enforcements or maintaining the blob and you can get armor or elite infantry out first.

If your losing to AT section blobs at that it's a bit of a skill issue given that they're ♥♥♥♥ at taking out infantry, or team weapons.

mortars and rocket artillery are not as punishing in this game compared to coh2. Likewise, with blobs, the forward reinforcement is a major issue. It needs to be nerfed. Blobbing should never be viable even against its appropriate counters, which it currently is in this game.

*hint* The first major balance pass buffed the ♥♥♥♥ out of indirect fire.

Maybe the problem is your army composition? I play DAK btw.

Why? Because blobs beat strategy and combined arms in CoH3

I think in its current state, blobbing is alot easier to do than it is to actually counter it. So those saying you need to outplay them, well yeh, you can, but the problem is that its significantly harder to deal with than it is for them to just walk at you.

I think its a mix of longer ttk, the fast resupply mechanic with the med trucks and the reduced damage when retreating so even if you get close to wiping the squad, theres a good chance at least one model is gonna get back

I don't see an issue tbh. Most conflicts with blobs I usually win, but them I use a lot of HMG's...

Just played an almost 1h long 3v3 and there was a constant blob of pathfinders and bazooka squads from start to finish. Nebelwerfer, Wespe, Walking Stuka, ... As soon as you bombed them, they already had a new blob that easily overwhelmed us while the artillery was on cooldown.

The game ended with an additional Sherman blob and some british tanks mixed in between. Axis couldn't do anything, because the tanks were simply too expensive and we couldn't keep up in terms of numbers or high quality hardware. To be fair though, the allies were pretty skilled and kept the pressure up for the whole match. Fun, but a bit frustrating too.

Remove retreat, or put a delay on it, would fix everything. That's main reason blobs work.

Removing retreat would break the game and putting a delay on it would do nothing for the defending player while doing nothing but add frustration for everyone else

the problem ist the classic counters like arty or MG are not as effectiv as in COH2.

Sadly Relic doesnt seem to realize this. So all games are just blobfests as the counters are far to ineffectiv. Even if you get hit by a blob counter you can usualy retreat most and be back in 1 minute

Because blobs spend less resources than combo weapons in this game. It is better to focus on one unit and have high numbers than to have a mixed troop composition and few units.

add stamina for infantry omegalul (good idea i think no joke)

no its just make the blob counter more deadly. Mortars just damage everyone but only kill if they are allready very low. In COH 2 a direct mortar hit was sometimes a wipe.

The only thing that makes HMG's ineffective is smoke. Without this, they are fine.

Use a couple and your fine.

AT guns are ♥♥♥♥ in coh 3, they shouldnt be so squishy... its almost impossible to use them they get two shooted by most of the tanks xD
