You immediately rush for 2-3 squads of Grenadiers, you MUST go for MP-40 upgrade in tank battlegroup, then you IMMEDIATELY make a veterancy for them.
They get VERY strong up close, their grenade becomes all-squad-grenade-throw, and at Vet.2 they get out-of-combat heal. Ive found it very-very good for the MP bang and so on.
The only downside is..... 80 HP per 1 unit. They die VERY quickly later in the game. And Wehr has literally no other great units better than any of Allies ones. So yeah...
At least they perform REALLY WELL in the early to mid game. Then you switch yo Jagers with 'shreks for AT, or stick with them grenadiers spam till the late game with tanks. No other way around, cuz Wehr's units are universally garbage in 1x1, even the Luftwaffe Pioneers with MGs (theyre the best unit so far in terms HP \ squad size \ dmg)
Treat them like Volksgenadiers from CoH1 and conscripts from CoH2 and you'll play them right.
And the video is right. They can be decent with a few upgrades. But I think there's a reason for the callback/retrain feature.
