Easy 8
Can some explain the difference between this and the 76mm Sherman? Is there one? Also why does it need to come with Rifleman squad for a whopping 800 MP? No other faction tank call in has this, why does this one? Just to make it that much harder to obtain after 8 CP?

I believe that:
* It's faster
* Has a three MGs instead of two (when you include the 50 cal)
* ~15-20% less armor
* ~14% more HP
* Different vet abilities (flanking speed or AP rounds vs WP rounds or HE rounds)

Honestly i dont bother with the ez8 this go around. For the armored battlegroup. The US needs a jackson 90mm or pershing again. For now i just use the m4a1 76mm sherman and it does well for me.

i guess easy 8 is for when you use infantry support center or air insted of mechnized support for the 76 upgrade.

also firefly.

it's 1943- neither of those vehicles exist yet. makes a good reason to not include superheavies in general, as they're a ♥♥♥♥♥ to balance. as for firefly, 76mm sherman is *basically* the same vehicle.

Historically it was a sherman with better armor, better engine, wet stowage and a 76mm gun - it was basically the best 'normal' sherman. It *shouldn't* have less armor, but I honestly don't know its exact stats in game.

As for infantry with the call-ins, most DAK call-ins are with infantry+tank. I think that's true of 6 out of 8 of the call-ins.

The game is NOT historical accurate. Like the black prince tank. This argument doesn't fit!

Yes but those are all non doctrinal, a flavor of the faction if you will, not locked behind 11-12 CP

It annoys me that they look exactly the same.

There is 1 difference the front Turret armor plate.

But basically was the same tank just like the Jumbo with extra plates.

It has more hp and more penetration then a normal sherman. And the stats show a little less accurate but not by much.

historically the Easy 8 had a better suspension which would lead to it being faster and more accurate on the move if need be however due to the change in suspension it did cause the tank to lose some side armor

Its a Sherman tank that does not require that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 120 oil tank factory.

All USF armor callins are garbage

* easy 8 costs way way way way too much in both points and resources for its performance
* m8 scott is complete crap, tennis court range US howitzer strikes again
* salvage vehicle is a meme maybe useful in 4s but even then it costs a bunch + salvaging takes a ton of time and costs a bunch

Half of these aren't really answers. I've not been able to call in the E8 without the game basically being over anyway as the cost is just stupid. The reason it requires 8 CP and costs an arm and a leg is so that you can't skip getting tank depot altogether and then just call in your tanks without having spent the fuel on the depot. IE Skipping tech tiers.

Is this necessary? NOPE
They could just allow the E8 as an option once you've unlocked it to be built from the tank depot itself. This policy of having an extra infantry with a callin was terrible in CoH2 and made those call-ins never used. The E8 suffers from the same thing and therefore is completely unusable in multiplayer.

Now what is the difference. It appears to be moderately tougher than the Sherm 76mm w/ armor upgrade. And is armed with a different tank shell that functions as a "good vs all" option. It looks like its running the Hellcat 105mm cannon and thus gets the HVAP rounds. So the short version is its a Sherman that has all the advantages of the M1 and the M18 in one vehicle.

As stated before its unusable with an 8CP requirement and being paired with a riflemen group inflates its cost so you'd have to float a stupid amount of resources to call this in. If they used their noodle though they'd just make it built from the tank depot, and adjust the fuel cost of the tank itself instead of using CP and pairing the callin with a rifle group to delay its deployment.

The games never last long enough to even call one in.
