To everyone crying that Axis is weak
You guys farmed easy win for 1 week straight, if the game feel impossible to play its most likely you guys are in the wrong elo bracket.

i get the feeling that a lot of these people are new to the series. ive played since CoH1 beta so ive seen all the highs and lows. Truth is CoH is hard, and its a hard game to get really good at. Instead of crying, they should go practice

No offense here but you’re barely 900 elo across the board.

Also some things are out of an individuals skill level of control, such as horrendous path finding, units firing into the ground like it’s a missing competition. Tanks deciding they want to spin on their own mid combat. There’s also certain faction imbalances like axis armor, Allie’s have two counter plays here - black prince, and combined arms micro. To which the answer from the axis side is - flak 36 oppressive counter - nebel and Stuka to counter your counter to their counter Allie’s have no response to overwhelming axis artillery. And don’t tell me the bishop or the 5.5 or the whizzbang. They don’t even begin to compete, and two of those are commander while axis gets artillery no matter the commander they pick.

You see I play all sides in 2v2 and 3v3, every faction so I don’t get blinded by one sides imbalance. I make sure of something before coming to the forums and crying about it, there are many things outside of your control on both sides now especially. The keten and fuel cost/manpower changes hurt whermacht a lot in the new update. Haven’t had a chance to try out DAK but they should still be fine and from unit testing the guastatori is still broken. British are extremely powerful now and roll over axis in high elo matches, even though boys AT is not performing as expected now.
US is cringe at all levels of performance. They are probably the hardest faction to play in the game. They are also my most played and I still feel sick to my stomach playing this faction. If matches progress into sim city on the axis side which they often do in high elo matches they have no counter to good axis armor, I’ve tested all tanks and microing perfectly axis panther and tiger and PZ4 just seem to perform better even going mechanized and super buffing your tanks you still get rolled. You can barely push because of the flak 36 and the emplacement one, nobody can call in air strikes because of the oppressive anti air on both sides, artillery on the Allie’s side is disgustingly weak.

Unit pathfinding is atrocious. I have lost matches simply to this, and units being stuck in buildings, and in base buildings, and when they get stuck on objects.

Vehicle pathfinding is the worst in the entire game. I have also lost matches to this as well.

Unit accuracy especially on vehicles and AT guns. I watch several times tanks sitting perfectly still missing over 10 shots in a row. None of the tank battles feel good anymore because it’s “who can miss less” but the firing is completely out of your control. No amount of micro or positioning helps because your units may not even fire properly for 9/10 shots.

Tanks turning mid combat without any orders being issued. This is infuriating.

All in all though the early game is a little better balanced and no longer just a steamroll. But half of the changes in the patch don’t even work as intended, I went through and tested and after 15 minutes of my time was able to see what was functional and not, make a post about it on their forum and inform the dev on discord. So either they didn’t test the patch themselves or they rushed it out. Either way I’m getting age of empires 4 vibes all over again. Also some of the balancing decisions don’t even make sense they just feel like blanket nerfs to lower the winrate in general despite everything being balanced in 1v1’s, though since I mainly play team matches they definitely needed some nerfs to exploits and super cheese strats.

Still didn’t fix the core issues of the game though, so to recap:
Allie’s lack any lategame artillery

Allie’s lack any meaningful counter to armor spam, 17 pounder and black prince don’t cut it versus a tiger and a flak 36. Though the black prince can win a 1v1 versus a panther and a tiger now, you can only call 1. If it dies then go screw yourself. Stuka loiter essentially one taps it as well and the m16 does not kill it fast enough to prevent the initial strike while the axis AA prevents all allied strikes.

U.S. forces are forced into a reactionary role against good DAK players. You’re shoehorned into one commander and if you don’t go riflemen and AT nades off rip you’ll be on the back foot the entire game. Bazooka squads just don’t cut it even with the HP buff. They miss far too often and die far too quickly as a 4 man squad. AT nades and Bar slow you down to getting any meaningful armor out.

No good emplacements or serious AT on the Allie’s side, 17 pounder just gets countered by axis nebel or Stuka.

Sim city in team matches only made worse by the points above.

Emplacements are still bugged and even killing the crew inside does not damage the emplacement until the crew is dead so there is 0 counter play to killing axis emplacements in the mid to late game. Besides the funny troll comments like “oh just throw away all of your muni, smoke, dive ONE of their emplacements and hopefully don’t get creamed by the rest of their team just to potentially take out a single emplacement which they can recrew instantly and to full HP.

Whermacht is too slow on the start now. Keten was op but all they had to do was give the Americans Weasle upgrade at the start instead of nerfing it.

DAK is super strong in the early game now especially since British AT rifles don’t function as intended anymore. Unless the player is extremely bad they will walk all over you early game and just snowball into the late game.

Guastatori need a total rework and so does the entire commander. I’ve gone into great depths about how vehemently broken this unit is and how much utility it has. The cost doesn’t even matter at this point because it does everything better than any unit in the game while being tanky enough to walk into a fortified position and walk away missing one or two models not to mention whatever he is pushing wish.

DAK and whermacht getting access to the tiger is a bit overkill in my opinion, and the DAK call ins need a rework from the ground up.

I could probably go on all day whining about this and that but after 150 hours in the game I’m just tired. This feels like an alpha. A sad alpha that we had to pay to test for them. I question every design choice with every match. I finally got so sick of the imbalance that I flat out uninstalled. I feel that even in 6 months time this game will still be a mess. It feels like they just do random changes to kneecap factions with higher win rates in team games when they should be balancing off 1v1 despite it being my least played mode. And as I said there is no quality testing done before these patches go live.

Everything about this game screams it was made with consoles solely in mind, and every match just reaffirms this to me. This does not feel like a company of heroes game, and I have 3k hours in 2 and 1k in coh1. It’s not even like I’m bad either I play with good elo and most matches feel pre determined from the first engagements. It’s also baffling to me how I can win 4-5 engagements as any faction, squad wipe several of the enemy units and it never feels like they lose any pressure. They just keep coming back stronger and stronger despite owning less than half the map and losing every engagement.

This feels like company of heroes if it was made for the fortnite generation. Sorry for the rant but this game really feels cheap.

Look at the patch notes again, they cancelled the paradrop update portion lol!
They completely overlooked how powerful paradrops are, especially HMG.
