Could you test how good armor skirts are for the Panzer IV (Wehrmacht) ?
And then also test how good the upgrade for the sherman tank also is?
Like if they are really worth going for?

It's a little misleading since tanks are suppose to engage in long range... Maybe a mod would fix that, allowing cannons to fight at much longer ranges with less accuracy or efficiency, but contribute to long range battles with fog of wars.

Smoke would be incredibly useful as it already blocks direct line of sight to target things.

This is about current game mechanics in this game. This isn't a simulator.

panzer 4 can get up to 3 abilities

1 from battlegroup making it faster and more accurate
1 allowing it to go hull down and tank damage
another ability on the bottom right which again allows accuracy and speed.

In short, if the german player micros his tank he should win a 1 vs 1 against anything except maybe a churchill.

Bear in mind about 3 Panzer 4s are needed for critical mass, supported by pioneers to repair. Add a tiger on top and that's you're roll state.

Right now i tend to see players trying to bum rush an unsupported panzer 4, which is just going to get it killed. It needs the remnants of you're infantry squads from mid-early game and shouldnt be pushed against anti tank. eventually you should move from infantry, engy and 1 armor to mostly armor and some engineers for the final push, as even massed AT BOIS will not break 3-4 hull down panzer 4's

To people saying tactics matter... We know that's the point of the test: To identify what tactics you need to implement in order to win this tank match-up. The OP did you a favor and you're whining that he didn't spell it all out for you.

Historically Sherman should be better than Panzer IV, slightly better, but better non the less.
