How to cope with BOYS AT RIFLE?

Hey guys,

right now I'm struggeling big time with the british AT rifles. I feel they deal a lot of damage to infantry too, busting their cover and shreding the soldiers as well as the vehicles of DAK. Can somebody help me out with a tip on how to deal with them as DAK?

Against DAK Brits are pretty decent, have you tried the italian Soldiers with flamethrower?

They’re over tuned right now for sure, the upgrade only costs 50 munitions for two boys AT. If you’re playing whermacht you have to be careful as your early game sucks. But the best thing I’ve found personally (2v2-3v3) is luftwaffe doctrine > ketengrad with upgrade > call in fallschirm pioneer > build first building > either get sniper or MG > either fallschirm pioneer or mainline INF > by this point if you’ve been microing your sniper or mg you should have enough points to push out fallschirmjager and have them be your mainline, I find they do very well against boys AT spam. However another option is to go for jaeger infantry and get the snipers on them. Jaeger infantry are also over tuned at the moment with their sniper upgrade if you build 1-2 of them they do NASTY work versus any infantry.

Also Boys AT spammers usually blob. So just rotate to the side of the map where the blob isn’t and kite when they push, try to avoid the head on unless you have an MG in a good position or sniper support. If you let them reach a critical mass that’s fine but do NOT let them have majority control of the map. The other two whermacht commanders aren’t good versus British early game right now, your fallschirm pioneers can also get the grenade launcher upgrade and they get very good at countering blobs.

As for DAK it’s hard to say. Bagalatori or however you spell it are probably your best bet. Guastatori are good as well but they are harder to field in time as DAK, though the guastatori doctrine also has a forced retreat ability on the right side, while expensive if used at the right moment it can swing the tide exponentially back into your favor. Surviving that long is the problem.

But yeah MG’s Snipers and heavy micro with your positioning and recon information all play a critical role in countering the Boys spam at the moment. I’ve gotten used to it so it isn’t too bad to deal with for me at the moment but wherm definitely struggle the most against them early game.

@Lokieys thanks for your effort in writing this text. I will definitely keep that in mind and when it comes to me playing wehr I'll go ahead and try Jägers.

You might not have to worry about them for long. This is essentially a carbon copy of the okw volk shreck infantry blob fest back in COH2. The devs thought it was a big enough issue that they eventually nerfed it. It's likely that they will do the same for this as well.

Can't believe the devs neutered brit defensive playstyle just for this. Once the nerf is done, there will be little left to define brits as a faction.
