Workaround for Mission End Bug

This is a workaround for the bug in the Italy Campaign where you complete the mission objectives but the mission doesn't end and return you to the Campaign Map interface. You remain in the mission and the interface largely stops responding. You can't select units in the world or use hot keys. You can select icons in the overlay interface but can't right click in the world to issue move or attack orders.

This is a workaround for the Steam PC version that will rewind the campaign to the campaign map prior to starting the bugged mission. Note that if the user invokes the mission and it's the mission itself that's causing the bug, e.g., you attack a location that has a fixed mission associated with it, this will only reset you to prior to that point. The bug may re-occur if you attack that location again.

You need to move some savegame files. If you try this, be careful to keep copies of everything so you can unwind things if you make an error!

Savegames are held in :
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2\Savegames\users\<user-id>\savegames

There are three subdirectories:
\AutoSave\Campaign\italy
\Campaign\italy
\CampaignTemp\italy

The game Autosaves before and after every mission and populates the Resume button in the lobby with the last Autosave (asssuming it's later than a manual \Campaign save), so if you get locked in a mission because of this bug you need to rewind the campaign to your last successful campaign save -- either an \Autosave or a manual \Campaign save.

I haven't tried to rewind to a manual \Campaign save because I haven't needed to. I will update again if I do.

Steps to rewind to the last working Autosave:
1. Move files out of \CampaignTemp to a backup location like a labeled folder on the desktop
2. Move the latest folder out of \AutoSave\Campaign\italy to the same backup location
3. Open the (now) latest folder in \AutoSave\Campaign\italy
4. Copy the files from the latest folder in \AutoSave\Campaign\italy to \CampaignTemp

If you did it correctly when you start the game and select Single Player from the lobby interface the Resume mission should now be the last working Autosave, not the bugged one.

just dont save during missions and load it and it works fine...thats what i have done n i have had no problems with ending missions now.

it has somthing to do with saves either they get corrupted or somthing but i tested it and it happened everytime i loaded the save.

You can also just restart those missions. Did this several times now and could finish them after restarting. Reloading never worked, just restarting with no other workaround.
