Monte Cassino Glitch:

I've tried capturing so many towns and attacking Monte Cassino with artillery and everything i can find online as suggestions but when i try to start the Monte Cassino mission it says "cannot use ability on this target". i'm going to have to miss out on this big mission which sadly since i'm going for a 100% completion play though really ruins the whole story for me :/

Have you already completed some of the requirements for it? Either capture adriatic/anzio/bomb monte cassino and I don't remember the fourth.

yeah i completed half of them, haven't had time to get to anzio yet though.

You "only" have to capture the Adriatic line, the Bombing of Monte Cassino is a scripted "side effect" that you "could" prevent by completing one of the requirements for the main mission(easiest one is to capture Adriatic Line, since you cant reach Anzio on Land until you capture Monte Cassino to break the Gustav Line.

Thing is idk if you can attack Monte Cassino without the Bombing, even if it says you could prevent it and could attack without the bombing, but normally you just capture Termoli and Pescara and then it should work, if not, its most likely bugged on your side.

i had the adriatic line but i was missing anzio, i didnt have time to get to both points so they just did the bombing. didn't seem to effect much other than feel like the story was all over the place. i was able to play the missions and the partisans didn't care about the bombing they helped me anyways.

You can attack monte casino before the bombing occurs, just need to fullill the conditions and have two divisions near the city at the same time.

I recently captured Monte Cassino a few days before the scheduled bombing and it worked fine for me. Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game's cache?
