armor vehicle wise,This game aryan steel face rolling allied force since COH1 until firefly came out (opposing front DLC)
for me,Honestly I can play this game after a official zoom out mod came in.
Welcome to europe my friend! ;) :D
This balance issue is quite frustrating right now. I stronlgy hope the germans will be nerfed.
Why should relic love anzis, because their elite faction is to strong in YOUR opinion? After 1 game you are able to judge about the balance? i highly doubt that.
The Africa corps can build a transport from their HQ.
It seems OP until you actually play the game and realise it can be damaged and destroyed by basic bullets. HMG's shred them. As do any form of anti tank.
They have invested in a car, a squad of pioneers with the flamethrower upgrade, and if they are close enough to burn you, they are close enough to be sticky bombed.
1: The grenadiers are much more expensive manpower wise.
2: US riflemen have a thompson, and will defeat grenadiers if you get close enough. When upgraded with 1-2 BAR's they will slaughter poor hapless grenadiers, and thats before considering veterancy or upgrades.
3: English rifles are ridiculous. Use the rifle grenades, or simply find good cover and they will trade with grenadiers despite being cheaper. They can also be upgraded.
If you want to complain about German troops, complain about Jaegers. They have insane damage from long range with their basic G43 and will slaughter allied infantry, even commandos/SF.
Where the Germans have the advantage, is in their wide unit roster and readily available armoured units. The Marder III for instance is dirt cheap at 280 manpower and 25 fuel, while the Stug can go toe-to-toe with most allied tanks.
The allies can match it, they just have to micro - aka the skill floor is higher.
The greyhound armoured can can beat any non-turret German tank.
So anything smaller than a panther will lose to the US car. Or Chaffe.
Because the allied vehicles are not only fast, they have speed boosts so they can zoom around and behind the slow German tanks that can never aim at them.
Well micro'd even Panthers struggle unless high veterancy due to the slow turret rotation speed.
This is TOTALLY incorrect. Sure the Tiger was great at range. However this only really helped in the deserts of Africa or the flat lands of the Russian step In the western theater with hedge rows and many cities it was an easy target. Also its slow and most American guns by that time could reliably penetrate its armor. Which was flat. Pershing tanks where really not even used in WW2. Maybe a few by the end, but for the most part it was shermans.
Also the Germans have very few tigers or panthers on the western front. Most where kept on the eastern front in a desperate attempt to keep the Russians from steam rolling them. The odds of running into a tiger on the western front was slim. But considering the Panzer 4 (which was the more commonly produced tank along with the Stug), looks like a tiger from a distance (with its similar blocky turret and hull). A lot of sightings where falsely claimed to be tigers. It was something like maybe a few thousand panthers and tigers built totally in the entire war vs over thirty thousand shermans.
Also factor the allies pretty much controlled the skies once they landed in France. The air battle had already pretty much concluded over the UK. The Luftwaffe was already on its knees by that point with most of its experienced pilots dead or missing. So most tank sightings the allies just called in air strikes to quickly mop them up.
Lastly the Sherman was actually quite a match for the Tiger tank in the armor part. The Sherman with its sloped armor had almost as much as the Tiger, except the Tigers frontal armor was flat. Also the Tiger was very prone to mechanical problems. Transmission final drives and engine overheating due to poorly trained crews. Just like the Luftwaffe most of their trained and experienced crews where dead or missing from the fighting in the eastern front. By the time the Allied landed in France the Germans where already on a retreating defensive. They didn't have the logistics like fuel and spare parts plus trained crews to really keep the tanks running efficiently.
They did the best they could with what they had.
