EA games usually take a couple of years or longer. Please take your hatred somewhere else. It is totally uncalled for.
Yelling and cursing will not get the game done sooner. Chill, it's just a game.
We could be waiting over 10 years for v1.0 to release, with numerous steps foward and back.
:side-eye at 7 Days to Die:
If the devs finish LYF in half that time, much less a single year, I would be somewhat impressed and more than a little pleased.
F***KING lol
This upcoming update has been in the works since the Early Access release back in March. Between that time and now we've also deployed smaller updates with bug fixes, performance improvements, and quality of life features such as quick depositing, increased daytime length, auto-run, inventory sorting, and expanded map functionality among other things.
We're planning to be in Early Access until we're done with the story and have a complete game. We estimate that this will take about a year from now. During that time we aim to add more gameplay content and new areas to explore.
Also wanted to add - this game has been pretty robust as when it comes to the feeling of using a mech vs walking as a person and the assets haven't clipped or look like garbage. So if they're doing test time instead of us being the testers, I'm very happy about that. We shouldn't bank of developers to purchase code and assets either to make things faster for us - that risks a ton of carbon copy games, in compatible code or an engineering team that doesn't really know the build so if an issue were to surface - it could take longer for them to investigate into. Besides - they likely have jobs to cover their bills too.
Patience is a virtue~
Or more so Star Citizen (in development nearly as long, with over $700 MILLION more in budget (yes that's right, look up how much SC has brought in with both public and private investments)
I do wonder, at times, whether Chris Roberts is saving up to get himself a custom-painted SpaceX Crew Dragon or a double-strength squadron of 42, fully-restored F-104 Starfighters.
