Feeding Critter Bases
What's the point behind this? It isn't very clear to me after the time I've put in thus far and just got to the last island. I initially started trying to feed all 3 in the regions, but it seems pointless.

For each Nest you fully feed in a Region one day, the more resources will spawn in that region the next day.
It's not something you *have* to do, though - a small amount of resources will always respawn in each Region every day, even if you haven't fed any Critters or Nests.

Feeding the critter bases imo saves time running around and feeding them individually, but in turn the more of them you feed per day the more gatherable resources re-spawn

Haven't had any issues with resources respawns to warrant needing to feed the critter camps as the day/night cycle is so short as is. By the time you do some crafting in your base and go grab some resources it is already night and things respawn.

Sounds like they need to fix something with day/night cycle as right now I've gone most of the game without needing to do anything with critters. Only experimented because I thought it was an unlock like thing in the beginning.
I did it maybe twice, before I realized that there's enough of an abundance of materials across the island that it's sort of pointless if you're playing by yourself. In a multiplayer game, with multiple players crafting and building and harvesting, it's probably a much more integral part of the gameplay.

Feeding critter nests is how you forage intensively rather than extensively. You can expend fodder to harvest more material everyday instead of having to rotate. It's useful for materials you can only source from a single region, like copper or crystals. It's just generally not necessary if you don't have an acute need.

I think The Big Brzezinski hit the nail on the head there, its a multiplayer thing. As a solo, its just a time sink, you do or don't, your choice.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

But resource isn't scarce at all. You know where it is and just go and get it which kind of makes the nest feed redundant.

Thanks for the feedback. I am wondering if there could be improvements to this system to make it useful outside of just respawning resources? It feels just okay as it, but kinda an afterthought overall in the game, begging the question why it is exists in current state.

Two key suggestions here...
1) Gatekeep tech advancement in some way by finding all artifacts, resource types and feeding nests in region. Doing so may unlock either a key tech advancement or continue to allow progression in some major way.
2) Would be nice if once you've found the nests and fed them once, they can appear on the map in the future. 100% okay with not showing them before found, but for ease and if they provide value post-initial feeding, it would be good to have a location for them on map.

If you decide to grind a particular resource, bring the necessary plant snacks so you can feed while you gather, then the next day go back and do it again. You can very quickly harvest a particular resource using this method.
