Panic about the Microsoft store

Hi, since I bought the game on the Microsoft store from my PC, I wanted to know if I can play online for free or do I have to get an Xbox subscription to play it, thanks

i dont think you need an xbox subscription for any games on pc. the only microsoft gaming subscription available to pc is the game pass. if you purchased the game, then you dont need that subscription.

As the dude above me stated you don’t need a subscription for Xbox to play Microsoft games on your pc. I play halo wars 2 all the time with my gf online and I haven’t had Xbox gold since 2013

If you purchase any game in Microsoft Game Pass, you can play it anytime and as much as you want without any subscriptions, just like in Steam. The subscription only provides free access to games included in the subscription.

To play online on Console with others you need a gamepass Subscription, that subscription gives you ONLINE Play and access to the games included in Gamepass ( depending what version of gamepass you have Core - Ultimate ), if you have purchased the game through the MS store like I have, you can play that online with others on PC without the need for Gamepass, but if you intend to play on XBOX with others then you need to gamepass sub.
