Chromaize spawn bugged?

All the guides I've found said you need to restore Stepstone peak in order to get Chromaize spawning. I've had it clear for like two weeks in-game time and none is spawning for me. Does it grow somewhere else?

That is right area. Does it persist thru a save and reload?? See pic for info.

It did start spawning for me. I wonder if it's tied to some other progress too. I have been through stepstone like 5 times collecting iron ore and never saw the chromaize. Then I went back to base and upgraded everything else I could, which included using power cores for the first time. Next time I went back to stepstone the chromaize was showing up.

That very well could be. Everything in this game is usually tied to something else. Glad it is working now.
