Dropped items are instantly picked back up

It seems to be impossible to actually drop anything. Is there a way to prevent this, everything I drop get picked back up the second I exit the menu making it impossible to drop things to get below encumbered weight

They drop in front of you, so are picked up when you walk forward.

It would be better though, if they fall *behind* us.

For now, dump stuff off to the side somewhere so you can turn around and walk away from it.

I've noticed that once you hit encumbrance or close to it, items stop schlorping into you as easily. Had to back up and walk forward over things at times because I was willing to overload with it being near the end of the day.

I do feel like popping drops out of you in a good arc would help a little with it too though.
