This doesn't make sense??

I cannot seem to progress in this game beyond the starting area. I have only managed to clean the Pine Heights area but in order to progress there seems to be a contradiction. All the other areas around me have those weeds. In order to clear them I need to upgrade my vacuum which needs copper wire. Copper comes from areas that are currently full of weeds and it only spawns once I clean the area. How can that be possible?

I need copper wire to upgrade my vacuum but I cannot get copper as it is in areas that I need the vacuum upgrade to access. That is a total contradiction. Am I missing something or have I gone as far as it is currently possible in this game?

No, you need to explore other areas. Upgrade and move on. Check to make sure that you have built all machinery and process everything to open other things. You’ll get there.

Well I found a bit of iron and a bit of coal that I cannot do anything with. Until I find some copper I cannot progress any further.

The areas are out of order. Check the bottom of the map
Plot with copper with a big yellow tree. A large yellow spot on the map

Are their any other upgrades that you can do now? Anything you can build now or process? A screenshot of your map that you can post?

Make whatever upgrades you can, then go exploring. See what you can find that you can clean up. It's not like higher tier areas are more dangerous if you wander into them.

Here is my map. Don't go to Yellow Forrest yet. The small yellow spot on the map (Edge Cliffs) is where the copper is. My guess is that you may need something from Pine Heights first.

Game Pass here, you're headed for Edge Cliffs next. You can clear up those Noxious Weeds there, then start gathering copper from there. That'll give you what you need to keep progressing.

Edged Cliffs is where the copper is. Go up the ramp left side the large tree think there is tree arch over it. There are 3 nodes to your left. There is 1 by the pond under the big tree and the rest are on the ramp going down to the purple area on your map there are about 8 or so there. To find them just go up the ramp and straight to the cliff look to your left is the ramp down.

I think you are wondering into Step Stone Peak. Watch the top of your screen to see what area you are entering so you'll know when to turn around and go back.

Pine Heights is 100% cleaned. @The Royal Pain, I don't think you read what I wrote. Edge Cliffs cannot be the next area. In order to clean the noxious weeds you need to upgrade your vacuum. To do that you need copper.

Is there a cave somewhere where I can find some copper or is there an animal I can feed that may drop copper? I've been trying but haven't found any yet.

There are no other upgrades that I can get.

it 100% is edge cliffs. i didnt get the upgrade for the vacuum myself and simply could get rid of the weeds with the standard one. you are simply missing something or overthinking.

yeah i cant remember having any difficulties with cleaning edge cliffs at the beginning.

Then they have changed something since you played the Edge Cliffs part of the game because when I go there and aim my vacuum at the noxious weeds, the message on the screen say that I require the upgrade to the vacuum.

No, my mistake. I think I was confusing Edge Cliffs with The Yellow Forest. I just went to the Edge Cliffs and you are right. I can just suck up the weeds. Yesterday I read that copper was in Edge Cliffs but I must have mistakenly headed to The Yellow Forest.
