Wood respawn
Does any of the trees respawn? Specially for soft and hard wood.

dosnt seem like it but you can replant trees using saplings (seems low drop) near your base

Yeah, normal wood is not a problem, but on a long run hardwood could be one i think.

While trees are quite abundant, it's kind of strange how rare saplings drop. It's not sustainable if I perform mass deforestation and I can't replant every single tree. I can't have a tree farm that's consistently being replenished.

If they don't re-spawn after cutting then maybe allow us to kick/shake trees for saplings/seeds to plant. That could help. I certainly don't want to end up with a land of no trees.

I am curious about this too. It is a bit illogical, that metals, coal and crystal literally regrow over night, but trees and common foliage won't. I understand this would be undesirable around players buildings, props, fields paths, etc., but away from this, it should slowly regrow as other resources do. Or at least all the trees should 100% drop saplings the same way as glow trees, color flowers and that stone bearing flower does. Why is the wood most precious thing in this game?

Yes, you can buy more saplings from trader. As far as I got in the game, I can buy green and yellow tree sapling and pine sapling. So normal and soft wood is infinite this way.

But is there any sapling for hard wood trees? And is there a palm sapling?

I like the surrounding as it is, full of trees and bushes, with the lovely natural look, I definitely won't deforest the whole map in the "satisfactory way"... ;-)

I just got a giant yellow tree sappling on my game, it seems there is dedicated sappling for hard wood too.

I have to agree. I have spent maybe $50k in game, with Lola, to buy large and normal saplings for normal and hardwood. Have barely farmed softwood as I only needed it for one item so far (the barn).

It would be nice if seeds had a higher drop rate or if they grew back, even at a lower percent.

did anyone try to let planted trees grow and grow? will green trees grow into large green trees after a few days? then you would have a source for hardwood.
[edit]
nevermind, just found a large green tree sprout ^^

Good to know there is giant sapling too... :-)

yeah! but like one of my former posters wrote: the rate of the sapling drops are a little bit tooooo low.
might be a design decision that you experience a low drop at start, might be on purpose so you think about growing/producing/exploring for items to sell at the merchant and buy saplings for the money (like you would if you were actually a farmer ^^).
additionally said: as soon as you found a giant sapling, it will be on sale at the merchant. like it is for the other regrowing resources.
but we don't know what content will be added over time. e.g. mech upgrades for a higher rate or "better water" when planting... i'm still not too far into the game, so i might come across some further mechanic.

Speaking of watering. I put in a request for watering to be more like the seed shooter. I’m fully upgraded on the watering system but I’m only getting a 50/50 chance of it actually watering anything. Which means that I’m running back and forth way too much to call it fun.

About 75k into trees now. But… I have a massive and lush dark forest nearby. Loving it!

Not all of them do. Iron, specifically, I have found to *not* respawn daily. Others seem fine (though I have not needed to go back daily for the 'rare' stuff on the island/elsewhere).

How? I have little problem fully watering 2 25x plots, with enough extra that I should probably put a third up. Hold Alt fire to do the biggest splash and it might miss.. 1, 2 spots at most, if you aim it in the center. Also, find a spot nearby to plant some of those Pond Pitchers to make refilling quicker.

With the water nozel and supply upgrades, especially at max, watering large crops becomes quite easy. Having a few spout plants (the waterwell ones) makes this even smoother and reduces runs to a water supply as you can have multiple placed when you need them the most.
