If the charged splash would more reliably cover a whole square of crops, it would probably smooth out this rough spot pretty well. You could get into a groove and be done by lunch, leaving the whole rest of the day to explore or build or whatever.
I see and understand your point. But I would still like longer days since we don’t have an energy bar to deal with. Then the rest wouldn’t be an issue.

We can save and quit anytime in the game. So if the days are too long, it won’t be such an issue. I would like to explore more rather than to race against a short fuse.
