Mech Customization vs. Mech Upgrades
The mech upgrade screen is great - perfectly intuitive.

The mech *customization* screen is straightforward, but the subsequent implementation is a mess. When I click the part, it drops the new mech part in front of me, but if click too many parts, the jumbled pile of them blocks me from doing any more, then I leave my mech and have to manually pop off the old arm/leg, then look on the ground for the correct replacement arm/leg (assuming it hasn't disappeared in a lake), grab it, *jump up in the air and hope it connects, if not, retry*, and then repeat.

Surely the better mech customization screen would be to just click what you want, and it's automatically applied. Done!

It annoys me only because the rest of the demo is fantastic in every way!

I've built every blueprint the merchant has to give me, made lots of money, enjoyed the cool weather and sunsets, fed the animals for resources. Even the mech falling over and my having to right it on occasion is adorable!

I agree that it doesn't really need the player to manually apply the parts in order to do its job. It took me WAY too long to work out that you even had to do that - I thought the parts appearing on the floor was a bug of the demo. Poor sign-posting IMO.

once you learn that you can yank a part off, and click to jettison it into the ether, causing to to despawn into your inventory, and then grab a new part and also jettison it vaguely towards the hologram on the mech, it gets less tedious.

i actually enjoyed the process.

Same for me. Not bad at all once I figured it out.
