I want to be clear on that this would be a big undertaking to implement so it is not something we are able to do in the short-term but we'll look into if there are anything we can do long term.
Going to try the demo out just to see what it's like, but I probably won't purchase until there are dedicated servers. I host them myself for me and friends and having to rely on one person to host the same save up is pretty bad. There are ways around this like dumping the save file in a shared google drive/onedrive/etc, but a dedicated server usually does that plus increase performance of the game, reduces desync (as it's not relying on the host's PC who is having to generate graphics), etc. 100% necessary for any co-op game over 2 players.
It really depends on how you see folks playing this though. From what I've played so far, losing progression because someone else did it without must feel really really bad. On the other hand, it could be cool to be able to make changes to the base for other to arrive and see.
That second part is what made me love minecraft and still had no other game surpass it (even if I'm really tired of it). I just want a world that I know will live on for years which we can iterate on from time to time.
Just my opinion, I thought it might be helpful :)
Agreed. I do like hosting my own dedicated servers for my friend group where players can come and go as they want. The Basic implementation from Satisfactory for dedicated server was pretty easy to setup. something similar in this game to upload your worlds right from the game menu would be nice.
We don't all play at the same time, so it's nice to have something running so we can log on & play for a bit whenever we like. I host locally on a dedicated system for multiple games like Farming sim 22, Valheim, Minecraft & Astronomer.
They've seen this game & their mum bought it 2 of them. But there's no dedicated server hosting option with steam CMD I can run on my server system. So, even if it looks fun single player, I won't be buying unless it has a full dedicated steam cmd. So, for me there's no intentions of buying it until them.
Awesome!!! Well, I guess I will consider this game then!
